A Few Photos
« on: February 21, 2011, 02:03:27 PM »
One of my many hobbies is photography. That don't mean I'm good at it but I sure love taking photos. I think that being an artist has given me an eye for taking pics. I'm truly blessed to live in such a beautiful place as the Ozarks. Here's a few;

Thanks everyone.

Powderman, it's an older digital camera. A Sony FD Mavica. I like it because it has a 16 power zoom lens and uses 3.5 floppy discs which makes it easy for me to download the pics to the computer. It was selling for over $500  when my wife bought it. She found it, like new, in a thrift store. No price on it and they had no idea what it was. She offered them $5 for it and they took my offer. She started taking pics with it on the way home. :) My son bought her a camera case, tripod, and an instruction book for it off Ebay. It's no pocket camera but it takes great pics. :) I often take it with me when I go for walks or rides on my ATV. I've got several pics I took of the Barred Owl. Found him perched on a limb and he let me get within 3 foot of him. I took pics for a good 15 minutes and he never did fly off till much later. My mother just laughed and said it was the Cherokee in me that made the owl allow me to get so close. I swear he actually posed for the pics. I often am able to get very close to wildlife so maybe my mother's right.  ;D None of these pics were taken with the zoom and I mainly use it for lanscape pics. I was finally able to enlarge the pics of the owl and deer so you can see them much better now. Here's a few more pics;

Very nice. Seems you have the same sunsets in the Ozarks as we do here in the Cross timbers.

When I go into the woods and see something that would make a great picture I never have a camera. I need to take it as I would my rifle if going hunting. Nice picture's.

Cpt. Rick, cool photos bud. Thanks for sharing.  Thanks everyone, I really encourage everyone to carry a camera with them when going outdoors. I intend to put my best photos in a book to hand down to my kids and grandkids. It would be a cool thing to remember you by, the world seen as through your eyes. I am also putting a album together of hunting and fishing photos. My son and I are very close and share a love of hunting and fishing. Just one photo can trigger priceless memories of times shared.  :D

Very cool LT! Often when you see something beautiful, unusual, or really awesome, you're all alone. Having a camera with you allows you to share it with others and keep the memory alive.  :D

I think I shoot more deer with my camera than I do my gun!
It is just a little cheap pocket camera.
Does a pretty good job.
Sorry, the one pic of the sunset & ocean was from our vacation.
