Talo made 300 of the Golden BCs if you want to see a pic of an engraved H&R.

Are you planning on doing the work yourself or sending it out? Sending it out would probably cost a pretty penny if you can find someone to do it. Honestly though I think alot of engravers would scoff at the idea of doing a Handi.

I am not talented enough to do this work and so far the only engraver I have contacted  turned me down flat. He was willing to do my Marlin leverguns but totally uninterested in doing the handis.I kind of suspect it has to do with the initial layout time & effort. Similar patterns on the levers could be used again & again. But we all know there aren't many engraved Handis out there. G66

I think that would be cool to have an engraved handi rifle.  Being a low cost rifle shouldnt make them scoff at doing the work.  If i had the extra money i would be all over it.

How about some gold work!!!
I don't know who did the work as it was like this when I bought the frame here on GBO.
I also got the wood here along with the brass spacer.
The spacer doesn't fit that well.
I only put it on for the pictures.

Hey it's a Handi!

Just grab one of those hand held engravers and go to town!

After all it's going to be a one of kind and it will have a personal touch so who cares what anyone says about it as it becomes art, and your way of expressing your fondness for your handi.

My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

With the computer etching machines out there I should think that 'somebody' would be willing to jig up your action and the cost should be well below hand engraving (remember, engravers are 'artists' and may have that temperment). You should be able to find some patterns you like in the etching selections pre-programed; not quite as original, but you are not likely to see another one so done on the range!
Before having it done you may need to de-blue and polish (by hand, not on a wheel!) and afterward reblue or case color and/or gold-fill the lines.

I would but it would be pretty mundane.
There is nothing on the other side, just stock frame.
I wish they had done both sides.

At first I thought I would say," I wish I had two pretty sides too", then reconsidered.........
Id settle for just one  :P

LONGTOM that might be a National Wild Turkey Federation receiver.   Their youth guns are called Jakes.  They use the word "jakes" in place of the word "youth".

I could see doing it if you had a long happy relationship with one. ::)
Maybe something that would help you remember it.

H&R has made lots of NWTF firearms, I've seen several shotguns and a few rifles at Banquets over the years, got a 9422 several years ago myself.

I had thought of that and now that I see the 9422 that Tim has I am sure it is.
Mine has the same JAKES beside the turkey as his.
Would be nice to know what stock set they had on it when it was new.
I would never change it from what it is.
I love the tiger stocks!
