Gold in NY

Anyone ever pan for gold in NY state ? I know Vermont had a gold rush and you can still pan there.

Sorry for being late responding but I just noticed your post.  Yes and no. There is fine flour gold in places, but it belongs to the state.
The gold that is here is left over from the time the glaciers melted. I have not seen/found very much in NY.
However, there are minerals, semi precsious stones and artifacts to be found. We have had better luck with metal detectors than with our gold pan, but it is all fun. Good luck.

Probably NC.  Not far from Charlotte.  Reed owned the farm and his kid found a huge nugget.  Used it as a door stop.
