I found the sierra 117gr gameking was the best shooting bullet out of my encore, it was the only one that would shoot better than 1" at 100 yards.  I used it in the federal premium loading.  It did a fantastic job on the whitetails that I shot with it also.

I have been reloading for various 2506's since 1979. I have tried lots of bullets and have gotten best performance from Horn 100 gr Spire point, Sierra 100 BTSP, 100 Nolser BT, and Nosler 100 Partition. the partition is the best by far for terminal performance explosive entry wound but still always punches all the way through, even on shoulder shots through both shoulders. I have tried most of the 100 gr bullets made and all work well on lung shots without heavy bone. The partition has been reasonably accurate for me always less than 1" groups and usually around .75". The others will group between .5-.75.

For powders if you buy 2 lbs one of H4831SC and the other of RL22 you will find an accurate load. I have used both powders for numerous rifles and both powders have performed well. Most guns work well with either powder. I find that as I work up the powder charge the accuracy gets better as I get close to max loads. Experiment with primers and seating depth as I have found that some loads will group twice as good just by switching primers. I tend to use CCI BR2 with H4831 and FED 210Match with RL22. With 100 gr bullets I find that H4831 will produce best accuracy between 56-57.5 gr. With RL22 between 56-58 gr. THESE ARE MAX LOADS WORK UP SLOWLY!

You will love the 2506 a wonderful long range deer and coyote zapper I have around 4000 rds through my current rifle and my kids love to hunt with it. So much so that I rarely get to use it. Sorry about the length of this but maybe you can tell it is my favorite caliber

ARE YOU USING THE ENCORE OR A BOLT GUN. I HAVE TWO BOLT GUNS IN 2506 BOTH ARE WEATHERBY ULTRA LW GUNS AND THEY BOTH LIKE 100 GR. BULLETS.
I NEED ENCORE LOAD DATA I HAVE HORNADY NEW DEM. DIES.
JUST TO LET YOU KNOW SWIFT WILL HAVE IN APRIL OR MAY  (100 GR. POSSIBLEY) SCIROCCO BULLETS. THAT WILL BE THE ULTIMATE 2506 DEER BULLET.

encore vs bolt gun

My 2506 and the others that I load for are bolt guns. The only caliber that I load both bolt guns and contenders for is 223. For the 223 I have found that generally what works in the bolt guns worked well in the contender.

The encore is a strong and rigid action I think you will find it will load very close to what your bolts like.

If swift brings out a bonded 257 I hope that they are wise enough to bring it out in 100 gr. Most 25's I have worked with will shoot 115-120 well but shoot the 87-100's much better.

loading for 2506 encore

you can call swift, they like to hear info from people like us. iv been told by v/v i will have to full length size. i had v/v build me a 6.5mm remington saum i had to full length size it. by the way short action case's  will not work in the encore. you have to take to much material out of the action. v/v is building me a 2506 to replace the attemped 6.5mm.

maybe some one can give me some tips on loading 2506 encore. other than the 6.5 i have not loaded for any encore.
