Upon reading the "blurb" I thought that this was bull crap.  Police Officers are not paid to make decisions based on religious beliefs. However, upon reading the entire article I have to agree with the captain.  He refused to "order" the men and women of his command to attend what is for all intents and purposes a social event.  He also chose to not attend.  If he were to refuse to provide required police services, or if he were to "order" his people to NOT attend, then IMHO there would be a problem.  As it is, he seems to have made a personal choice about a personal matter and allowed his people to do the same.  I don't see where the problem is. 

I think that the Muslim community of Tulsa needs to take a deep and hard look at their relationship with their fellow citizens.  It must be pretty terrible if they can't lure cops in with free food and entertainment!

Too bad a radical Muslim didn't blow himself/herself up at the event and take a few dozen, or more, of the Tulsa Muslims to Allah.  Stupid sheetheads.

I totally agree with the Captain.  I wouldn't go or order my men and women officers to go either.  That is the power of choice in America.  The officer should keep his job.  The Muslims should get out. Period.

Good for the captain. And, they CHOOSE not to be a part of American society, no such thing as an American muslim. I would have done just like him. Christians have no business in satans den.

Real Americans and Christians will not go to places like that. The godless ones are simply trolling for converts for satan himself. In Mayesville KY the godless ones wanted to build a lair and the people and the county said NO, we don't want it here. Then of course the A nti  C hristian  L iars  U nion got involved backing the godless ones of course. Now the godless ones have decided they don't have the money to build. I'd like to see some of them volunteer to go. With a Bible under one arm, a big bag of pigskins under the other, wearing a Jesus saves shirt and a big cross around their neck, and make sure they have plenty of Christian literature or a few Bibles to hand out.  Wonder how tolerant the godless ones would be then??
