PH 30/06 loads
« on: February 24, 2011, 06:48:49 AM »
I have a PH with a fluted barrel and I can't get anything but a 150gr bullet to group worth a hoot. Does anyone have a starting load with a 168 gr bullet that groups good or any bullet with good groupings 110,125,180 gr. TIA

Since no one with a Pro Hunter barrel is pipeing up, I guess I'll tell you what I know.  I have a 24 inch Encore 30/06 barrel that does very well with 165/168 gr. bullets of several manufacturers though I usually use Barnes TSX bullets.  I use Varget with Federal 210M primers (I don't remember the exact load right now and don't have my data books handy).

By the way, what good load with 150 gr. bullets did you get?  I've tried shooting that weight in my 30/06 in the past and never got good results with it.
