I just wanted to know how well you like the 280 Rem. Any problems, dislikes.
would this be to much over kill for yotes. And the most important thing
(to me) what's the recoil like with this rifle?

I have a 280 m77 and love it . I had a trigger job done on it and i use 150 gr.nosler partions and it shoots 1 group at 100 yards. No deer i shot with it has gone over 20 yards after it was hit.Recoil is no problem, mine is blue with a boyd,s lam. stock.
I enjoy collecting guns, swaping and staying up on all the newest models. I deer, quail, squirrel and rabbit hunt.

I have a Model 77 heavy-barreled silhouette rifle made about 20 years ago.  I bought it new a few years ago and have only fired Hornady factory ammo in it.  It shoots under an inch with an old K6 steel-tube Weaver on it.  I want to try some handloads and a better scope when the weather gets nicer.  I think with a little trigger work and some match grade bullets it could probably shoot close to 1/2".

I love my M77MKII .280.  It is my favorite deer rifle to date.  Recoil is not bad at all on it but I have shortened and weighted the stock and installed a Limbsaver recoil pad.  With that combination recoil is very mild to me.  It is a sweet shooting gun that dropped two deer this last season.

I have a Ruger M77mkII in 280 and love it.  Mine is the stainless/lam. version and I got it for $489. I honestly think it's a great all round hunting rifle.  I have shot groups as small as .4" with  140gr. core-lokts and IMR 4350.  I honestly haven't found the recoil bad at all on this rifle and wouldn't hesitate to let my fiance use it for hunting as the recoil isn't harsh.  I give it a big thumbs up.  Good luck.

i have  a 77 allweather in 280.i have used it on coyotes.your choice of bullet is going to decide wether or not you got enough fur left to make one mitten or two.lol.some guys don't like to put big holes in the fur,me i could care less.use 139 grn hornady spire points over a hot charge of 4350.our coyotes here in ny get up to 40 lbs or more.i have killed one that weighed 45,actual weight on registered scales.average size is 30 lbs.i liked the way the 280 performed only reason i stopped using it was the noise.during the middle of the night that report will carry a long ways.didn't need the extra attention.i would have people at the general store the next morning asking me what i had killed .great flat shooting deer cartridge with a little heavier bullet.good luck with it.
