No doubt that was a huge sack of fish, but a couple of those fish were not quite as big as he said. I would personally love to stick any one of those, but he needs a better scale.

Savage,
You are right!  Watching a video is most likely the only way any of us will ever see a 5 fish bag like that.
I went with my Brother and Cousin to a big private pond yesterday.  It's on a giant African game farm and is full of fish.  I caught 21 bass with the largest at 4 lbs. 3 oz.  Many were in the 3 to 4 lb. range.  It was great! ;D  I just don't catch fish like that when I'm fishing lakes.  I know why too.  It is my lack of interest in fishing real deep.  That's where the fish are in most Texas lakes. :-\

  Farm pond full of fish..............caught 21 (pic`s?)     largest 4-3oz. (pic`s?)    3-4 pound range,

Nothing fishing in a "hi-fence" private pond.  Sounds like you were fishing the place Bill Dances
    fishes..... ;D

I`ll bet that "Mickey Mouse" spinning combo of yours still can`t figure out what just happened.
      It`s not used to catching anything!!    :) ;) :D ;D

PS::::  No pic`s,    just another fish tale.        ::)

True about the pic`s.      You have posted alot but this is a ...BASS sight not a cat-fish hang out! :o

If I knew how I would but sadly I have yet to figure the "how too" out. As you well know.
So until I do, you have free rein.   ;D

Went to Gander Mountain friday with a buddy as he wanted to buy some tackle.  He picked up 2 really nice "BAIT-CASTERS" and 2 rods and some other stuff.
loaded the reels with mono/casting weight and got him in my back yard for a little training session.
Adjusted the reels and off he went. Big time bird nests!  Bounced a couple of the side of my house!   His casts went left, right and every place in between .    He was crying for his SPINNER!
Typical response from a lazy spinner user. ;)   Don`t forget, he never used a B/C before.
Anyway, Coached him up (a lot) got him to understand how important the "thumb" is in using a B/C.  After more self inflicted problems and more coaching.........   he started to come around.
The bottom line is, he can cast for distance (still gets a nest or two) but that takes time to over come. Throws straight, 75% of the time. Again, practice and more practice will win that
    battle.
After a couple of hours in the sun (I was sitting in the shade ) and end-less casting and me
staying on his case, he finally realized he got it!   Not the whole ball of wax but the concept .
He called me sunday afternoon, after he had been practicing and said,  He loves it!
All that is for you, Zulu.  Mr "take the easy way" spinning combo......    King of the cat-fish
    people!      ;D ;D ;D

My Father- in- Law gave me a new Browning spinning reel and the nicest Shimano pole I've ever owned for Christmas.  The reel is a very nice one.  I guess I'll keep using them for a while.  When I cast, I hit where I aim most of the time.  Why would I want to change that?  I imagine even you catch a tree branch every now and then. :-[
I have 4 very nice spinning rigs that I keep baited with different lures by my side in the boat.  Too much money tied up in them to put them in a garage sale for a dollar. ;D
You tell us a fishing story.  Have you been out this Spring yet?  Now is the time to go!
We are going to Lake Bastrop on Wednesday morning and coming home on Thursday night.  I like fishing that lake.  It has a lot of grass where Lake Conroe is devoid of any vegetation because of the carp they stocked years ago to control hydrilla.  It worked.  There's not a blade of grass, no lilly pads, no reeds or cattails.  Nothing!

Zulu::

"Garage sale for a $1"............          Some G/S  I don`t pay that!          ;D ;D

Going out tomorrow morning with my gran-son.  He`s a teacher in a Gov`t school.  Taught him to use a bait-caster  a couple years ago. He`s not bad.
Going to fish a part of the St John`s river that`s close  to me. Lots of pads so the spinner -bait will be the lure of choice.  Hope my gran-son has some gas money or he`ll be fishing from the bank. ;)

Stick with your spinners.   One of these days when you get good/better at casting, you can try out for the girls fishing club at your local high school!  Sissy................ ;D ;D ;D ;D
