Excellent Smiths, folks. I think the elk horn grips are growing on me. Though Ken's grips on his .44 are nice too, I have the same stock on a NEF Handi Limited Edition that are the same color scheme, which is why I bought that particular rifle.  ;D  I will be submitting mine this week. A model 10-7, plain jane street gun and deer sausage getter, a Model 19-5, nickel, that has had duty time, and a 53 yr old Model 28-no dash that has seen many years on the street and is a deer killer, respectfully.

S&W 686 Silohuette Model.
Notice the front sight is a little different.
It has four positions, and a wheel so you can dial the front sight up or down to the yardage you need.
The positions are set by an allen wrench.

If you want one, and want it done "right", you have to do what i did, gather up the parts, and have a master pistol smith put it together for you...

Under stress william you will not notice. Been there. Done that. In a fight, I want all I can get. Folks that think you have to practice with the hot round they carry also think it is realistic. It isn't. The Model 60 2" in 357 magnum is not a target pistol designed to target practice with full house loads. It's an in close pistol designed to be easily concealed, safe, and dependable with plenty of power to win a fight. It's a fighting pistol.

I do understand the stress thing---I was just talking range shooting. I just don't tolerate, Hummm, maybe I should say don't enjoy tolerating, it anymore.

I have been practicing for years with very light 38 specials, and they are fun, and cheap. I have fired a many a wheel weight down range in hideout pistols. Not uncomfortable at all to shoot. Lighten up your practice load and enjoy. The whole idea and concept of practice is to develop "muscle memory" with the weapon, and conscious, and subconscious gratification to become confident, and competent with it.
When you walk out into the world with it, stoke it with "business rounds". I can't however imagine going lighter than an aluminum receiver. There is a point of diminishing returns, where a weapons is so light, it becomes a burden to shoot regardless of the load. I have never really cared for aluminum framed handguns, yet in 1978 used one (custom light weight Commander). My Model 60 is an all stainless revolver, and I never notice the weight in carrying, but appreciate it's strength in construction.
