It's great that you're back on the board, Dan; are you at home? What's the word from the doctors?

Dan,

I am sorry to hear the news but am glad you are still among the living, heart issues suck. be prepared to make some life changes,
hopefully it won't limit you too much. Keeping you in my prayers.

Was it an actual attack if so was it the front of the heart or the back? or was it an Afib?

Bummer!

Hey Big Guy....start carrying 3 aspirins in your pocket in something that takes no effort to open. I popped 6 when I thought I was having a heart attack 10 years ago but I was fooled. It was a stroke and I only survived (sort of) because of the aspirins I had asked my wife for.  Please carry 3 aspirins and CHEW them.  Loose weight pal.  I AIN'T kidding.

OK, since that that 'speed bump' in life is past----

I see no reason why you can't 'move on',
or-as other Veterans (such as yourself) & Military type folks would say,
"Since you have  been 'returned to duty',,,,, now, you can continue the attack".
"Gone are the days of wooden ships, and Iron men.
I doubt we shall ever see their likes again".

Dan,  So sorry to hear about your heart attack.  When I went through my scare 3 years ago I remember how that felt.  All they could ever find on me was angina.  I told the doctor that couldn't be cause I don't have one of those but he said it was.  ;D  Had to carry nitro around for a while.  I tried blowing up one of the copy machines at work with one of the pills and it didn't work.  Must have been a bad batch.

Well enough of the lousy comedy.  Just praying that you will recover.  I like Richard's idea about carrying the asprin with you.  I think I'm going to start doing that.

Get well, Dan. ;)

He's is just hanging on , could be today ,could be three months . He is very guant wiith sunken eyes  :'(
It is abit odd shopping for funeral plans for your Father while helping your Mom to get to the front door of the parlors .

I use this board as a pleasent distraction .

Gary

He is a great man and great Father .He helped George Patton win WWll as a heavy watercooled .30 machine gunner after that he was a gaurd at a German political prisoner prison .

There was a famous German artist Adolf Riech intered ,B4 he was to be released he was painting portrats of the American Gaurds on the bottom of GI cots !

The officers kept cutting in front of him ,till finaly he was ready to come home . He told Adolf that "IF" he didnt get a portrat painted in time ,he would see to it that Adolf spent a long ....long time in prison .

Dad got his portrait and it is hanging over moms fireplace to this day . I am in line to recieve it .

I'll see if I can get a photo of it and post .

Sorry about killing your thread Dan .....but DD asked .
I grew up with this framed in a gold gilt type frame ......"just wait till your Father gets home ...."
"Oh jezz not that ! We'll be good"  it was like dad was always home ! ;)

Now it is in a very nice modern type frame It as wide as you can get from a cot and a couple of feet long .
