Don't own a Vortex, but do own a couple of the Nitrex by Weaver TR2 scopes, which are comparable to the Weaver Super Slams having same internals and optics. You need to clarify what models of these companies you are interested in. For example, kinda unfair to compare a Vortex Viper with a Weaver 40/44, or a Vortex Crossfire with a Weaver Super Slam. Anyway, both companies have some very good scopes with good reputations.
