Forgot to mentioned in my first post on this subject that after you finish a can of sardines while out ice fishing, just dump the dredges and remaining oil into your hole in the ice and wait 15-20 minutes! Unlawful in some places but that chum will really get the fish to biting!!

Years ago we were hunting upstate N.Y. in the Adirondaks. Late in the afternoon we ran across a guy that had gotten turned around a little (for 2 days). He was tired and extremely hungry. We told that we would take him to his truck and give him something to eat. Well all we had left between us was a can of sardines. Hungry as he was he said " thanks but I will get somethng to eat when I get back to town"
You should have left the ungrateful *** in the woods.
Eat the sardines or die!  ;D

Powder, you can order them online through multiple sources. Just Google Sultan Sardines. We have a regional grocery store called "Fiesta Foods" that carries them. Or, you may ask your local grocer to order them for you. I have done that too. They are excellent!!

About 2 hours ago I had some in hotsauce.  They were cut crosswise like short cordwood, and laid in the can that way.  They were pretty good..and a further consolation...they were obviously gut-free.. ;D
I'll have to look for some of those Sultans..

Brunswick's Sardines in Mustard Sauce.
I also really like them with the tomato Sauce.
