The NFL blew it...

    The NFL seems to have a problem..  That is, getting a singer who can get through the national anthem without screwing it up.
   The get a big star to sin it at the Super bowl...and the big star is so "full of hrerself",  that she fogets the words...DUH

    From what I understand, this young singer has already performed at the Cowboy's stadium.  Why take a chance on a tempermental "star"...hire a little kid who performs in a professional manner.  Here's the one who should have sung at the super bowl:

Wayne Messmer...Now that's the way it SHOULD be done !  I guess I'll never know why, with so many major games..the pros feel the need to bother with some self-centered egomaniac, such as the Christina or the class display put on by Roseanne a fe years ago.
  Surely, Mr Messmer or little Rhema wouldn't cost near as much as these overrated turkeys ...and the anthem would be treated with RESPECT !

That was a pathetic attempt at singing the National Anthem. I still can't get over what a terrible job she did. Even without the mistakes it was horrible. Why do some artists think they have to change tempo when singing it. Its not a rap song, country song, or hard rock tune. Just sing it like its meant to be sung. I think the NFL could do better with their half time shows also.

Nine year old Jackie Evancho who sang the National Anthem at the Pirate home opener last year would have done a good job also. She has an awesome voice.

  Sorry, I'm not normally into most singers & music, except for these young prodigies and a couple gospel singers. Who is Martina McBride ?

Martina McBride is a pretty little gal who is kind of a Country Western singer, but she is also a cross-over.   She is blessed with the sweetest voice this side of heaven and she knows how to use it.  Mark Levin plays a recording of her singing--I think it's God Bless America--on his show every now and then.  If it doesn't bring a tear to your eyes, you're not paying attention.
