OK Guys - We still have ice in North Indiana. Please tell me what's happening out there in bass land....... Who's catching what & what are you using. I've got to hang on for another week or so. BT

Went yesterday to Lake Conroe. Water temp was 65 degrees. 6 hours of fishing and I got totally skunked. My wife caught a 3 lb. gaspergoo on an 8" lizard.

Other than that, no bites.
Very discouraging.

So Guys,

Is any one going fishing. I've been laid up waiting to have surgery on my back and will not be on a boat for a while - till the last of rehab, if things go well. I had two days set aside to go last week and spent it in bed instead. HA! I'd love to hear from those who are getting to do what I miss so much; especially after a long winter. Regards, BT

Hey BT,
My Wife and I just got back from Lake Bastrop. Its 110 miles from here. We camped out one night. We left the house early and launched at dawn and fished till 1:00PM. put the boat back in at 4:00PM and fished till dark. Back in the water at dawn the next day and fished till noon.
It was a great trip. We caught a total of 39 bass. The biggest three were my wifes 3lb 14oz, and my 3lb 8oz, and 3lb 4oz. Yes, she got the big one.

The rest were between 1 1/2 to just less than 3 lbs.
We fished over grass pulling Pet spoons for all but 3 bass which were caught on crank baits. I can't believe we did so well on spoons but that's what they were hitting.
What a pretty lake. It is a power plant lake so there are no houses on it. Lots of grass and reeds.

No, This Lake Bastrop is just north of Bastrop, Texas. It is 110 miles west of Houston.

I am originally out of the N.W. Louisiana area and did a lot of fishing in that area! Black Bayou, Caddo Lake, Cross Lake, Lake Darnell( sp?), Kepler, Bistineau, Black Lake, Wallace Lake,Lake Stovall, Toledo Bend, Sam Rayburn,etc. Miss alot of that great type of fishing as I live in Colorado at this time!
Anyway keep socking it to those "Bucket Mouth`s"!!

Went to a friends place 100 miles North of here yesterday to fish his private 7 acre lake. There is nothing like private lakes! I caught 39 bass, and two giant crappies. My biggest bass was 4 lbs. 5 oz.
Most of them were in the 1lb to 2lb range. Sorry, no pics but had a great time fishing out of a 12' jon boat.
I know everyone likes to live their fishing adventures through me but I sure would like to hear about other's fishing trips.

I can't be the only one fishing in Spring.

Spring...we got 6 more inches of snow March 22nd and the the ice is still so thick that the bass can't get to my top water plugs

About 2 more weeks until open water

Went to Watts Bar lake here in TN last Friday and they pigs have moved up water temp is 56-58 and we caught all our fish in 1-2 foot in DARK red clay covered points on the strike king red eye 1/2oz red craw/chart bottom our best 5 went 24.6lbs! Great day had one fish 7.1lbs! cant wait to go back this week

Had rods installed in my back last week. Will be rehabing with a back brace for 10-12 weeks. Sure hope to get some rehab fishing in if I can set the boat up right. Thanks folks for letting me know what's going on out there - I'm having to channel my fishing through you guys these days.....

10 - 12 weeks rehab will see you mostly through the summer..

Yeah Zulu, That's the part that hurt the most.... They used two of my best rods for the surgery.....
Hopefully I'll fish better for it !!!! I would not have it any other way !!
