I'm thinking it may get someone in hot water, I was gonna ship some parts to a member in NZ, but declined after learning about the International Traffic in Arms Regulations 2010.  :-\

I dunno, I've shipped barrels to Canada with no problem, but it's been a few years, the law appears to be new and I don't remember having to agree not to export the Wolf springs last time I ordered them from Wolff, but my rememberer doesn't always work 100%!!  :-[ ::) ;D

I can't even order a scope, brass and anything remotely related to firearms from the USA to Canada without the hassle of an Import/Export permit( 500 bucks for it  ).

In my case Canada doesn't care, it is the US that causes the problems. I've had On-Line as well as Phone Orders refused because my Billing address is in Canada even when the item was supposed to be shipped to an US address.

I've shipped bullets and scopes to Canada a couple times, also shipped a batch of reloading components and dies to OZ, he had to get an import document there and shipped it to me to include with the shipment, but it wasn't expensive.

I've shipped "tractor and lantern" parts to Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.

Why do we, as a world, persecute ourselves with such stupid regulations.  A guy in Aussie land can have the rifle, but he can't buy parts.  Rocky would have said "Et up with the Yankee Dumbass".  He was a retired Marine and Florida Cracker.......and a wonderful friend....I miss him.  I have a knife and rifle from him I cherish.

Tim has a valid point !  The Import & export of gun/rifle parts around the world can be a sticky business. Tim kindly offered to arrange the shipment of a small parcel of trigger parts to repair/tune for my handi down here in  New Zealand. When it came to the extra strength aftermarket wolffe trigger springs ,He  would have been exposing himself to a problem with US govt because they are a restricted export gun part ! So I have done the paper work from my end thru the retailers online Its taken longer but so far the parts, I have ordered from numrich have been OK'd  and are on there way ,but  I am still waiting to hear from wolffe, about the parcel of hammer springs. You see what may be ok your end may not be the case at the other end & vice versa. As the sender you need to also trust the receiver, that they are not trying to abuse your good nature for illegal practice ,perhaps not a problem with car parts etc ,but gun parts are of high interest to customs agents around the world.Better to be safe ,than find yourself in trouble thru no fault of your own !

Thanks for all your help guys, but me and the Swede dude have figured out the hassle-factor is too great to pursue this idea any further.............

Thx for your time guys!
sorry my responstime is a bit slow :-[

i have been thinking about this for a while and i dont want to give
up the idea of a switchbarrel Hanid just yet..
Regulations here say 6 guns for hunting (7 if justified)
but extra barrels dont count so i can have a number of barrels for a handi and its still one gun,
since ordering a barrel from USA or finding an extra barrel here not gonna happen so my options are..
1: give up, not really an option :)
2: make a barrelstub from scratch, or welding the hingeparts to a barrelblank.. no good considering hardening
3: bying a barrelstub from you guys!, this must be the best option so far. if it dont have a chamber or rifleing i would not even need a permit for it.

Sorry for my ignorance, but if I have trouble being allowed to ship you a spring, how can I ship a barrel stub?
Now seeing how your rules work I can see why you would want a bunch of barrels for a frame you have. It makes good sense, once I saw that you are limited like that.
Good luck on the project.    thejanitor

I wonder if a 'prepped' stub, either bored straight through to no longer have a chamber or even threaded would be excluded from the regs?
He could then have it finished (or would that be swedished) with his choice of barrel there.
