Nope. The cylinder spins freely when you open the loading gate. No need for a half cock, also no need for a safety notch as it has a transfer bar system.
When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced. Live your life so that when you die the world cries and you rejoice.

Thanks.  I just wanted to make sure someone didn't do a "trigger job" on it.

The Factory supplied Owner's Manual offers some decent info on the "ways and means" of the lockwork.
Don't have one?   www.ruger.com

thumb the hammer back slowly and count the clicks, converted old models still have 4 clicks it's just the way they are timed, even with the new hammers and bar system. New models only click twice.  At least the ones I have.  (new and old single six, and old unconverted BH)
keep em talkin' while I reload

It depends on whether or not the lockwork remains in "Factory Original" condition.  I have many New Models with half cock loading...
however, I did extensive welding and fitting to make them that way........  8)

Ron Powers makes kits that are basically "drop in", as well.
