Double D.,   I can see some hitch-hiker thumbs being retracted quickly when they spot #24 on the dash!    I don't know exactly what route you will take through Pennsylvania, but if you go through Gettysburg and then along State Route 30 west to  Chambersburg and eventually Everett where the scenic route joins the Interstate, you will go through some very pretty countryside, indeed.  Mike and I had quite an adventure between Fort Loudon and McConnelsburg, PA.  We went through that area one dark June evening at about 8 P.M. a few years back.  Mike was driving my Suburban which he called the "Sway-Mobile".  He was doing about 40 in a 45 along some mountain ridge when 5 deer showed up in the headlights.  They were spread out for 100 yards, just like a well disciplined infantry platoon crossing open ground.  One grenade or truck Was NOT going to take them out!  Without slowing enough to be noticed, Mike began evasive maneuvers, dodging one deer after another, swaying until the door handles were clicking on the guard rail, left-right, right-left and suddenly we were past them!  Whew!!  Watch out for deer, Double D.  Pennsylvania has lots of them.  Lots and lots.
Smokin' my pipe on the mountings, sniffin' the mornin'-cool,
I walks in my old brown gaiters along o' my old brown mule,
With seventy gunners be'ind me, an' never a beggar forgets

Probably more deer killed by automobiles than hunters.  I'll bet that is the case in the Peoples' Republic of California; Fish and Game wouldn't give me the stats for both causes.

Headed out in a couple of hours..Will head from Round Hill VA to Fredrick, MD, then follow Highway 154 up through  Gettysburg to Harrisburg.  Just before Harrisburg, I will cut north and get on I-81 untill it splits off and take I-73 on in toe Allentown and the  KOA at  New Tripoli.

Anybody along that route.

I will visit Dom this week.

I also hope to get up to Fox industries, meet Ken Macer and pick up some steel golf balls.  Anybody coming to Montana this summer who needs some steel balls?  I might be persuade to pick them up and carry them to Montana for you and save you the freight.

You could stop at Fox yourself, then.  It's almost next door to the headquarters of my employer.

Anyone else who wants any of the Steel golf balls.  Call Fox, Prepay and I will pick them up Thursday and take them to  Montana.

I will also pick them up and drop them off along the way home. See map links for route.  We will have to set up a meet along the way.

The  back of the truck is filled with sticks and limbs and rocks and stuff that Katherine picked up and must go back to to  Montana.  Then there is the lead, zinc, and yellow pine and 55 lbs of black powder, oh yeah when Dom gets here 190 lbs of steel...

Speaking of Dom and the steel delivery, shop tour, steel yard tour, lunch and hours of yak, yak, yaking, exactly how much of Doms precious time did you waste anyway??  Time that he could have spent on all those cannons that he is building right now for GBO members.  How do you like it, DD?  Is turnabout fair play?  Remember all the complaining you did about Seacoast's visit with Dom three years ago??  Well, cat got your tongue?

He, he, he,  Tracy.     ;D ;D ;D ;D   Maybe I should have put Mike's name on this one?

Dom and I had a very serious and productive business meeting over a working lunch, the result of which will be extremely beneficial  to all of the GBOCannoners. A tremendous amount of brain storming went on.  I also brought him two projects to work on and make him some money.  Even the trip to the scrap yard was to benefit the GBO crew as Dom picked material to make more cannons. ..this wasn't like a bunch of  Colorado tourists dropping in to rubberneck!!! No this was work!!!!

Double D.,    I must say your paragraph of explanation was very convincing.  M&T studied your statement very carefully and concluded that it was not cut out of whole cloth.  There are significant elements of truth in it which helps us to become believers.  Mike H. bought it hook, line and sinker!  He's a very smart guy, so why our hesitation?  30 years in manufacturing, that's why.  However, we are very close to being convinced, Double D.  If you could answer just one question, maybe we can be.

Were you or were you not the 'Sales Methods Consultant' for the Movie, "Tin Men" just prior to embarking on your successful law-enforcement career?    ;) ;) ;) ;)

"Colorado tourists", that was really uncalled for DD.  :'( :'(

I will offer my deepest most sincerest apology for the Tourist remark, It was rude unkind , possibly flaming and probably ind violation of any number of the rules we have around here.

But, I stand by the rubber necking remarking comment.

Thanks guys, call us convinced.  We look forward to learning about some of those beneficial things you hinted at.  You are right about the 'rubber-necking', Double D.  We did lots and lots of that!!  Can you blame us?  Dom is such a friendly and interesting guy, that we wanted to see Everything.  And he showed us everything including the Gatling prototype.

I don't think he will mind if we reveal, right here, his most important secret he uses to make his wide variety of cannons.  It is all about attitude.  He uses lots of research to get the design right and then a tenacious attitude, and great industry to move it along and stick-to-it-tiveness to get it completed.
