I served on a jury twice, and a Grand Jury once, loved it all three times. After the Grand Jury the Fairbanks District attourney refuses to let me be called again.
The first case we the jurt found the person "not guilty". It was obvious the police had spent a year tracking down and prosacuting the wrong person.
The second case the person had done what they were being charged with, but it was a stupid law and we refused to find him guilty.
The third time I was on the Grand Jury. We only gave the District Attourney one third of the cases he brought to us. In one case in particuler it was obvious they were trying to bring charges against the wrong person. The DA was furious with me and one other person when we refused to send the case forward. I accused him of only looking for stats. That's attorney talk for winning prosacutions at all cost, no matter wheather the person is guilty or not, just to keep the numbers of successful prosacutions up in his record book, and make him look good for higher jobs. Him and I had been friends, the man never spoke to me again after that. I decided I really did not like him either, once his true self came out.
