1981 -Staff Pharmacist - Insta-Care Pharmacy, Chelsea MA
1983-Staff Pharmacist - CVS, Medford, MA
1984-Instructor of Pharmacy, MA College of Pharmacy, Boston MA
1989-Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Administration
1990- Associate Professor of Pharmacy Administration
2000 - Dean, School of Pharmacy-Worcester, MA/Manchester, NH
2005- Professor and Dean, School of Pharmacy-Boston
and Associate Provost for Pharmacy Education

Also...been director of a graduate program, interim Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, Interim Chair, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Senior Partner in a consulting business, worked partime weekends in a wonderful independent pharmacy, same for a local community hospital and now, pretty much anything our College President asks me to do!!

Do you find that the people you work in the university environment despise what you do in your spare time? I would imagine they would not be kind to you. Thoughts?  I let it all hang out here and don’t hide what I do. Most seem to get a kick out of it. At least that’s what they say in front of me. I could care less either way. My son thought of being a college professor and threw in the towel on that idea. He said he cannot stand the leftist attitude of the most of the professors outside the economics department. In the econ department, he said the professors are actually very conservative but he would hate working around the rest of them.

'for the last 8+ years I've been traveling about the country, riding my bikes and paddling my kayaks and when I'm not doing that, I'm pretty much wasting time doing whatever I want.  Right now I'm checking out what's going on here at Graybeard's while my wife is in the casino wasting money.

XD, are you talking to me?  I haven't been serving anyone.  I did do a little time in the Navy reserves and then the USAF, but that was 46 years ago.  No, I've been retired since I was 59 and loving every minute of it.  I highly recommend it.

Do you deal with Harry Eklof and Assoc in Richmond?
I used to work there for a little while.  They were the Elk hart Copper fitting rep at the time as well as the local Raypak boiler and water heater rep.
If you were in their shop in 93 we may have met.

Cabin4......no, not really.  Professional schools tend to be more conservative.  State colleges and universities and schools that specialize in the liberal arts tend to be more left.  I do get a bit of teasing but nothing that I can't handle.  It isn't at all uncomfortable but our school has been around for nearly 200 years (est. 1823) and we are pretty straight laced.

graduated in 2008, spent my sophmore and part of my junior year working at a fuel station part time, it was bought out by the rag heads.  Spent the last month of my junior year, my senior year another year after that at a local farm supply store.  Got laid off because "business was slow" (a part time High School student started working full time, and another guy was hired on a week or so later.)  Spend a little over a year at the local Hershey factory,  had to quit there because I was working 10p-6a, and had classes from 7:30a-5p.  Just started at a local pizza place as a delivery driver.  Been in college for the past 2 years taking entry lvl PC tech, web design classes,  switched majors this spring to telecommunication and I plan on getting a job with a telephone company as a outside plant tech/cable splicer when I graduate next spring,(fingers crossed).  Work for the next 40 years?  who knows.

Just coming up on 40 years as an elementary school janitor. Got the job right out of high school. During those years I've also done stints part time in a video store and a mom & pop grocery/gun store. I figure 3 - 4 more years cleaning rooms and it'll be time to retire.

I work at a newspaper on Canada's East coast. I do graphics work for them.

I work part-time for two motorcycle magazines as well.

Stack renovation chores onto that list, and there really isn't any time left to do much hunting or fishing anymore.

Teachers know the 2 most important people in the school are the office secretary and the janitor.

This is true!

I graduated high school in 1968,  My choices were Viet Nam or college.  I opted for college.  Even though I was not a good student in high school, I did well in college.  I'm sure LBJ encouraged a lot of others to do well also.  I started teaching in 1972, and recently retired.  Teaching is a whole different ballgame than it was 40 years ago.  I guess everything is.  I had some successes and some failures.
It is gratifying when you run into a student from 30 years ago and they thank you. Or a former student requests that their child be put into your class.  I don't think I know any perfect teachers, but I do know some great ones.  Yes, there are rotten ones too.  A good administrator knows how to get rid of them.  A poor one either doesn't recognize a bad teacher or doesn't care.
