shAnother reason to avoid spending at Tarshaaay...
« on: March 10, 2011, 05:22:14 AM »
 Target stores..
   I have tried to check out the Target stores..
        Having gone there to the book section, I discovered no Bibles..but a plethora of books on occult subjects...then Tarshaay boots the Salvation Army from their storefronts..Okaaay..
  A few months later I went there to get a cap gun.. no cap gun..not even any caps.  This may be a NY "vampire state' anomaly, but I was told that Target didn't handle guns or anything related to them, and "never intends to"..
       So today, I open the yahoo news and get the following article:
     http://new.music.yahoo.com/blogs/amplifier/88630/off-target-lady-gaga-splits-from-chain-after-anti-gay-controversy/?nc

     It seems Gaga & Tarshaay both are 100% behind perversion..both donating much to homosexual "causes"...but just can't agree how much and where to give the money..

   Haven't heard of Target donating to "defense of marriage" , "Focus on the Family", or any normal family boosting organizations...
          Not where I want to spend my $$ !

Ummmm....what exactly is there at Target for most of us to spend money on in the first place?

I once looked through their book selection and couldn't find a single book a real man would buy.  I hate that place!

Ironglow-
You misread that article, Target gave money to Tom Emmer's campaign for minnesota Governor. Tom is very conservative and has stated marriage is between a man and a woman, which drew the ire of gay rights groups.

Mirage;
  Did you read the link provided ?  Here is the statement issued by Target in that article:

      UPDATE: Late Wednesday afternoon, Target released a statement on the controversy: "We were very surprised and disappointed by the statements made by Lady Gaga’s organization related to her partnership with Target.  Target remains committed to the LGBT community as demonstrated by our contributions to various LGBT organizations, our recently established Policy Committee to review our political giving and our respectful, inclusive workplace environment."]

   I wasn't looking for Korans, but they may have them.  As I said, they have a plethora of books of an occultic nature.

Ironglow-
I did read the link, it says target contributed you can run but you can't hide (anti-gay) and to Tom Emmer (anti-gay). It doesn't say what pro-gay groups it contributed to, I suspect that was likely a cya statement. If you think wal-mart is better you sure have the right to shop there, but they aren't perfect either, they destroy their excess winter clothing rather than donate it to the salvation army (afraid of competition?) and sell groceries below wholesale trying to hurt smaller grocery stores. I have several relatives that work for target, they pay well, does wal-mart?

  I didn't say Walmart is a paragon of purity...fact is Walmart is a business operation dedicated to provide a return to it's shareholders.  However, taken all in all, Walmart has certain habits which reflect (IMO) better than comparative corporate habits of Tarjaaay...

   Walmart sells guns,

  Walmart sells ammo & hunting goods

   Walmart has no fear of the Bible

  Walmart did not kick the Salvation Army from the front of their store

            Yesterday, I bought some groceries and a new bike... didn't come from Tarjaaay...

   Haven't heard of Target donating to "defense of marriage"....

pure polytics and a waste of time. Not speaking of Target but of the 'defense of marriage' idea, when what it really is, is... anti-gay vote-generator.

If folks who are concerned with defense of marriage want to do something useful... come out against divorce. Really hard. Take marriage seriously. Call out the judges and 'advocates' and divorce lawyers in church who benefit from the divorce industry.

no-fault divorce and the way it is is a hell of a lot more damaging to marriage, than what to men or two women call their relationship.

want to stop 'gay marriage'? Require than any related legislature require that before betting married, one of them has to be designated the Man, so the courts will know who to screw over should they divorce.
Jesus said we should treat other as we'd want to be treated... and he didn't qualify that by their party affiliation, race, or even if they're of diff religion.

That new bike you bought says MADE IN USA right? Those bananas and tomatoes you bought were grown in america too? I guess latin america almost counts.

I don't much care for what wal mart has become either. These big retailers have killed the mom & pop stores.

   You simply MUST get better informed...God said homosexualism is an abomination.  I too am in favor of love, tolerance etc, etc as you are for the person caught up in that sin...but I have no love, tolerance stc, etc for that sin...because God doesn't !
  I don't know why your extreme  vehemance for divorce (personal, I presume), but I have no use for divorce either !  I am surprised that you can "detest" divorce lawyers for their sins and approve homos for their sins...I would rather both repent of their choice to pursue such a "depraved" lifestyle... ;) :D

  Don't "detest" either, remember the old saying.." Hate the sin, but love the sinner" !

I'm moderately well informed on some things, clueless on others, and not near as smart as I used to be.

See, that's were you go wrong. I don't approve homos for their sins, but their sins are theirs, and theirs to deal with. We're all God's children trying to make it through in this world. Divorce lawyers and the system they swim in do real damage, though. Real damage. I'd better stop there. No need to talk about how some lawyers and court officials need killin', because that might undermine my earlier point.

  Correction: We are not ALL God's children...

   Now, back to the topic;

    Mirage;
   My guess is that my bike was made in China, as with many industries..high taxes and union demands have driven all standard, domestic bike makers out of country.
     Perhaps I'm not the 'patriot' you are, but I didn't check to see where the tomatoes of bananas were harvested.  Have you found a domestic grower of bananas ? Or have you sworn off bananas, tomatoes and most other fresh fruits ?

   BTW:  You obviously used your computer to post here..what brand do you have, and where was it built ?

Actually there are quite a few american bike makers specialized, schwinn, giant, trek to name a few but you won't find them in walmart.

Mirage;
     That's why I said 'standard ' domestic manufacturers.  I don't need the high end type bike because I am not in competition; either speed, endurance or "staying ahead of the Jones' type of competition... ;) :D
   Actually, I am replacing a Schwinn I ride, which is a few years old and a bit "round the bend".  I checked out the Schwinns, and guess where they are made....uh..huh... :)
     Now for the domestic banana growers.. :) :D  NAH..just 'funning' you on that !
  Actually the big shot politicians and union bosses, who are always whining about 'buy American'... probably spend many times over on imported wines, suits etc in a week ..than I do on imported bikes and bananas in 2 years !  :D ;D

   One of the major beefs between patronizing Walmart or Target used to be that the basic owners originators of Walmart are in Arkansas while Target was a French owned firm.  Wally World is still headquartered in Arkansas..not sure if Target is still French..but they still have a "French attitude".  ;) :D

IG-
Target is based in minn, (which has the political leanings of france). here is another article that doesn't have quite the left tilt of your yahoo story.

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20011983-503544.html

Haven't found any info about targets contributions to gay-rights groups, you'd think they would be "proud" of it they did.

The nearest Target is 400 miles away, don't get there often.

Wal-Mart is about 30 miles away, get there almost daily.  Have to say we have no Mom and Pop stores here, they got put out of business during the pipeline days, and when the local recession hit in the mid 80s.  We were being raped by Fred Meyer, and Gottschalks, till Wal-Mart came in.  Gottschalks closed and moved out.  Freddy's built a new store (right next to Wal-Mart) and lowered their prices.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
