Support local stores , you know the ones that have local people owning and running them. yea a gun at a gun shop might cost a few dollars more but the service and selection should be better. Do the owners of wal mart , target or any other big national box store support your business as much as locals ? Support the ones that support you.
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

  Just bought a Savage 93F .22 mag at a local guin shop 2 weeks ago.  The shop owner, Mark, is a good guy and a 23 year experienced  LEO in a town about 25 miles from me.

Actually there are quite a few american bike makers specialized, schwinn, giant, trek to name a few but you won't find them in walmart.
Just to clear up something, and not to take sides, Schwinn, Giant, and Specialized bikes are made in Taiwan and China. They use to be made in the US.  Trek's high end bikes (carbon fiber) are still US made, the lower end ones are either made in China, to Treks' specs, or partially made in China and assembled in the US.
Believe it or not bananas are grown in the US (Florida & Hawaii), not sure if Guam produces any.

OldRanger;
  Surprised to learn that about bananas, not surprised at the bikes however.  Are the bananas grown in large quantity ?  last batch I bought were DOLE  don't know where they are grown..doubt they are labelled.

Unfortunately, not enough to supply our domestic market. I wonder has any US company like Dole, tried growing bananas in Puerto Rico? Dole is basically a large wholesaler, they own or control most of the banana & pineapple crop destined for sale to the US, and probably the world.
I do agree with you about Tarshaay, being "French" in their outlook. I recently saw a news report on the internet where, the Tarshaay stores in Mpls, MN, were catering to their muslim employees. For instance, when muslim employees refused to stock food products containing pork, management allowed them to avoid this work. What would they have said if Jewish employees refused? If it was us, we probably would have been fired for refusing to do our job. I don't care what color or religion you are, if you take a job, you have to do the entire job, otherwise, don't take the job, or let someone else who is willing to do the work have the job.

I agree, especially when you get these pharmacists who refuse to handle drugs they don't like.

Are you saying that it's more acceptable for an employee to refuse to sell a pack of pork chops for religious reasons than it is for an employee to refuse to sell a drug that can cause a miscarriage (death of a baby) for religious reasons?  Seriously, I am curious if that is what you mean.

I'm saying you shouldn't take a job if you are morally incapable of doing that job.  That never seemed like a controversial concept to me.

Well, you completely ignored the gist of my question.  I was curious why you said "especially" where it involved the pharmacist (you seemed to be creating a rank of seriousness there).  Oh well.

Not really.  I see someone taking a position where their morals will dictate their own non-performance of their jobs as both ridiculous and grounds for immediate termination.  I guess if I were in the ranking mood it would be based on this inconvenience posed to the poor person who hired them.  In that, I guess it would be more difficult to replace a pharmacist than a meat stocker?

The "especially" might have been based on the fact that we've seen this story before with the pharmacists?  I wouldn't read too much into it, morals are different for each person, and I'm not going to rank outrage based on other people's score, I have no frame of reference, I've never had any problem with pork.

Well, gosh, if I'd sat down and carefully thought through the entire realm or responses available to my 1 sentence post, perhaps I would have been more precise.  Or maybe you think this is some sort of "gotcha" type thing?

Who's representing the plaintiff and who’s representing the defendant in this case?

I wish I knew.  Like I said, I've never considered it a controversial concept that one should be capable of doing a job one gets paid to do.  Perhaps others do, depending on the religion of the person?

Duk, sorry if I touched a nerve.  I really was curious about the perceived emphasis on pharmacists.  Guess I've spent too much time drafting contracts.

  Can we extend that to elected office as well as well as store clerks and pharmacists..
How about a congressperson who is anti-gun, pressing for an attack on our 2nd amendment, or a President who perhaps due to early misinstruction, has a phobia about saving us trillion$$, by using our own natural petroleum resources to moderate world prices ?

Mirage,
It’s correct as is. Dick is the name of the character in the Shakespeare play King Henry.

Make sense now?

 now days thats hard to tell anymore, about candidates for office or any company for that matter..
as a hitch hiker in my late teens..i found that about a third of the fellas that picked me up would turn out to have something on there mind..i was so naive in those days ,it took me a while to even understand that i was being propositioned..they have made thier choice ,and i leave them alone ,as long as they stay away from my grandkids..i do pray for them..god bless

So IG...I'm sympathetic on your LGBT position, but likely for different reasons.

Question is if you owned a retail business or service, and given your scruples, would you go out of your way to exclude, or ignore, 10-12% of your custromer or market base...?  Could you afford to do that if that was legal..??

..TM7
.

       TM;
  If you carefully re-read my post #1, you will discover that I was not suggesting Target ignore any customers, although I pointed out where they evidently specifically chose to cater to a small percentage of their base (homosexuals)  while in turn, refusing to serve a rather large percentage of their base (Hunters & other gun owners)..  Only seeking equity..not likely to get it, because I think they know already..

    I understand there are a considerable number of hunters & other gun owners in Minnesota also..

I really don't know what their business plan is...obviously sporting goods having to do with shooting and hunting sports is not part of their business plan and merchandise stream, at least at this time....not every retailer handles these products. The LBGT market likes being acknowledged apparently...selectively shopping at those kinds of outlets that do acknowledge them....

Still, if you had a business, not shooting/hunting trade, what would you do: attract as much business as possible or exclude certain demographics....?

Incidently, are you suggesting if Target sold hunting/shooting products they would attract more of the LBGT trade...??... ;D ;) 8)

TM7,
Are you saying there are no LBGT's that participate in the Hunting & Shooting sports? I  remember see an article about the "Pink Pistols" Gun club. What about that market?  ::)

DK- if I read that correctly , Do you feel that doctors and nurses who refuse to participate in abortions, should be terminated?
