Libya?

Should the U.S. sit on its hands or get involved somehow?

Let me play devils advocate for a second.
We go in and change thier government. The new regime will not have any legitimacy other than being yet another US puppet. What will change nothing. The mentality is we hate you leave us alone, but send us money or weapons. Yes we still hate you and leave us alone.

In reality, we should stay out of it. This revolt started without us and can end without us just fine.

Stay out. libya is a sovereign nation and the USA does not have Constitutional authority to get involved. Our troops should be recalled to our soil and territories. If the UN wants to send troops someplace, they can do it with neighboring or regional nations. We should not be shivvied into doing other peoples dirty work.  Foreign aid should be stopped as well and only given to nations needing help after natural disasters. The globalist mind set needs to end twenty years ago.

I think we would at least want some spooks in there to stay up with what is going on and who is behind the uprising.  If the revolt is successful and if the userpers of power are on the extreme side, we may want to try to throw a monkey wrench into their plans.

I agree that officially we should keep our fingers out of this pie, but there almost certainly are issues that we will not be able to ignore.

I'm sure they are! I presume now the decision has to be made whether to wack  that guy or let him alive.

Their view in a much larger scale is similar to the Province of Quebec. If it is good for them, by all means, if not they don't give a rats curly hair how it affects the rest.

The U.N. just approved a no fly thing, problem we are the only ones capable of doing this, all of europe has disarmed themselves and are incapable of doing anything but talking. It is way too little  and far too late to have any effect anyway. If our president wants to send in our airpower to do this he should be required to fly second seat on the first plane into action. Of course he realizes that the pilot may intentionally crash if he does so.

Europe is not disarmed. Even Canada is ready to sent F-18 as soon as Italy gives approval to use their airfields.

Well, so much for what we should do.  Now, where is Code Pink?  Where is Harry "the war is lost" Reid?  Where is John "were killing defenseless civilians" Murtha?  Where is Little Dick Durbin?  Where is John Effing Kerry, the hero of Vietnam?  Where is the Congressional declaration of war?  Where is Baghdad Jim McDermott?  Where is Sean Penn and the rest of the human shield crowd?  And on and on and on.

Oh, does anyone remember what that spear chuckin warmonger in the White House's position was on the Iraq attack?

Those domestic forces only activate when the guy has an R on his shirt. Otherwise, foriegn wars and lost lives of our troops is perfectly fine with Code Pink and the rest of the anti-war (Anti Republican Started Wars) crowd.

Lets face it, most of the anti war groups that we see in the news are just actors for the Democrat/Corporacrat Party. Its the same group like at the capitol in Wisconsin. The state union worker communist party. Its all about money and craving for power to take your money and control your life.

I just think we have enough problems needing taken care of right here at home without our sticking our nose in other countries problems. Besides, it gets a bit old trying to be the good guy only to have it come back and bite us in the rear end. Every single country we've had trouble with we've helped out first. Look how nervous everyone is about Iran. In the 70's we supplied them with planes and trained their Air Force! Gee, ya think we'd learn! We aren't the only country in the United Nation!  Let some other countries step up for a change and start fixing things here at home!

Why is the US involved with this? It seems we have no good reason to be. Is this another case where the US does 99.9% of everything and a few other countries are minutely involved so it can be called a coalition? I'm getting a little tired of initiatives like that. They always start small and then escalate into 10+ year engagements.

Ironic isn't it. The USA has a relative small volunteer Military that is spead all over while the Chinese have a huge conscripted Force that stays in its own country. :(
