The movie "The Edge"
« on: March 14, 2011, 04:26:04 PM »
I watched the movie "The Edge" the other day. Anthony Hopkins, Alec Baldwin were in the north country. Later in the movie after Hopkins killed the bear with a spear they found a cabin. Inside the cabin they found a leveraction rifle and cartridges. What rifle and cartridge was it?

I aked myself that same question. I think it was a 50 Alaskan, 45-70, 45-90 or 444. Just a guess.

As much as I hate baldwin, it was a good movie.

If I remember correctly I think it was a 1886 winchester, so anything from 33 wcf, 45-70, 45-90, 50-100, 38-56 etc etc

You are correct. It was an 1886 and it was a 45/70.

Often wondered the same thing and have tried to take a closer look at the rifle and cartridges each time that scene comes around. Thanks for clarifying the model and caliber. Very interesting movie BTW.

Main thing I recall from that movie is that Baldwin
