Mine is the one about the guy who mounted a JATO (jet assisted takeoff unit) on his car. It's been debunked, but the story is basicially like this:

Arizona state troopers found a smouldering wreck well off a highway and it was so mangled that they thought it was a plane crash. It turned out to be a 1980 Chevy Impala that was modified by its owner. The owner worked at a nearby airforce base and stole the unit. He hooked it up to his car and took it out to the desert to run the thing. He didn't properly take into account that once a JATO is started it can not be shut off. The car was estimated to be going about 350 miles per hour when it crashed.

I got an e-mail not long ago claiming a 15 foot eastern diamondback was caught in Florida. It was claimed to weigh 170 lbs. Had enough venom to kill 40 grown men, and being bitten by its fangs would be like getting stabled by two quarter inch dia. screwdrivers. It goes on to say that it could swallow a two year old child, along with pigs, dogs, and cats.  This is just proof that you can't believe everything you hear or read.

The one that comes to mind is a mansion that was built here in 1820. In 1837 a young woman died there. Some say she hung her self others say she died at child birth. She is said to still roam the house.
The local historical society now owns the building. I took a tour through there years ago. Even though i don't believe in this stuff i will have to admit you get some strange feelings walking through there. :o  :-\.

I heard about the snakes in Alabama, they were cottonmouths they say.  My favorite was the CIA was using certain radio waves to control peoples minds and thinking, thus the tin foil hats.  It can't top the religion of peace.  What is it with the  "day of rage"?  No other religion encourages rage, honor killings, or killing of non-Muslims.  Christianity only says not to have anything to do with someone who has dishonered Christ or committed a gross sin.  Buddism, various eastern religions sometimes teach self defence thus the martial arts, but not what the "religion of peace" teaches.  Sorry I got over into religion.

Sounds like the scene from Lonesome Dove where the kid rides into a mess of snakes at a river crossing.

I think they attempted to duplicate this on mythbusters and wound up blowing the car to pieces. I wouldnt call it a complete failure because they did have a cool explosion.

Do you guys know who Bozo the clown is. No it's not BHO. There was a story about a little black kid that went off on his TV show. I always enjoyed the story especially when the kid said "Cram it clowny, you know where it hangs, swing on it." then hung on the camera yelling "Swing on it!" into the lense.

I was saddened to find out it was an urban myth.

Hmmm, now that isn't impossible. The surgery done somewhere, and the victim being tranported to another place where he/she wakes up. Not that I believe it happened but it could be done.

Not impossible but not at all practical because it would probably require a MICU and several people to transport a person under anesthesia. Now that wouldnt attract any attention at all! :o
