Range report: 270 and 243Win
« on: March 19, 2011, 12:33:25 PM »
I have been working with both of these recently, thanks for all the help.

The 243 seems to have settled down with the addition of a shim from a feeler gauge, no more lateral movement. With my reloads using H4350/Hornady #2453 100gr BTSP, on the last two sets I got a 3 shot group of 0.720" plus 2 flyers and a 4shot group of 1.19" plus 1 flyer @ 50yd. It needs some more trials be it seems to be heading in the right direction.

The 270 sighted in @50 yds using factory ammo, Winchester 130 gr PP just right, a little hi and @100yds it was dead on.
Using my reloads, H4350/Nosler 130gr Spitzer, I had a 3 shot 1.39" group @50yd and first two were touching but I think I pulled the third one. I have some work to do on this one, but it looks promising.

All in all a fun morning.
