increasing LOP on encore stock
« on: March 19, 2011, 04:13:43 PM »
Has any one ever tried increasing the length of pull on a encore synthetic rifle stock. I am most of the way through building an adjustable comb for stock but the lop is still very cramped for me. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks Tom

I did one on a contender stock. What I did was cut a block of wood to the size of the butt stock and the recoil pad, keep in mind that there is a slight taper. I did have an advantage as i am used to working with wood, after i had the right fit I  painted it flat black, remover the short recoil pad screws and replaced them with longer but same size and it worked well at least for me. You may find that your stock is hollow so you need to fit the wood block so it will fit inside your butt stock maybe a 1/4 inch to keep it in place.

Thanks Deaconllb that option has crossed my mind, will try it nothing ventured nothing gained. The encore stock is a little short for me as I am 6ft 5 tall. Have been trying to find a used or roughed up encore stock to install adjustable comb. Have made one out of kydex seems like it should work well.
