TEXAS, by, GOD would be the Colt, s/a.
Blessings

Sorry William! Arizona just passed the legislation for the Colt SAA to be their state gun. With the help of Colt Firearms to boot! I think Texas got burned. Maybe with the history Colt has with Texas, they will adopt an earlier model like the Walker.

These are my thoughts on the matter as I posted them elsewhere;
I know some Texans that won’t be happy about this. They feel that with the history that Colt revolvers have in Texas, that it should have been their state gun. Colt even named a revolver after a famous Texas Ranger, Samuel Walker. Texas Rangers made the Colt name famous going as far back as the early Paterson, and ‘Texas’ model Colts. Colt’s improved designs, (trigger guard), were inspired by Texans like Walker and they saw heavy use in the Mexican American War and Indian Wars. Some might say that without Texas, Colt might not have been as successful since Texans helped in the inovation and evolution of the Colt revolver and bought the lions share of them to boot!
Then too, Sam Colt was born in Connecticut and manufactured the guns there. Although I doubt they care about it and Colt Firearms lobbied for Arizona……..Still some folks won’t be happy!

I do agree with other posters that state legislators have better things to do than trivial things like this. Especially Arizona! But it's something for us loafers to to chew the fat about............. ;D

Louisiana... Rusty 22 mag with beat up stock and Troy Landry from "Swamp People" on History shouting "Choooot im, choooooooooot immmm!"  maybe with flashlight taped to the barrel.  ::)

Haveta disagree. There're already too many derogatory tv programs and movies showing Louisiana citizens as being stupid. We needn't encourage that mindest, especially among ourselves. My vote goes to the LeMat revolver of the War of Northern Agression era. Designed by Louisiana Dr. Jean LeMat, backed by our own General P.G.T. Beauregard, and favored by none other than General J.E.B. Stuart.

To honor Philadelphia, Pennsylvania's state gun should be a Glock 17 with the front and rear sights glued to the right side of the slide.

I'd like South Carolina's state handun to be a 4" S&W 29. And the state rifle to be the M1 Garand.

Since Mississippi has the fattest folks in the nation, and chicken is the #1 "crop" I'd suggest the grease gun! Fry baby, fry!

Hmm I live in NY state (thankfully upstate where gun laws are a bit easier, still have the stupid state awb)...I would say Remington 870. Why? Most hunters now start with them because they are affordable and can take a beating. And they were created in Ilion, NY :)

I was going to say Tec-9....but...I went with a serious answer :)

Nope, you still get to pick. Pennsylvania gets the Pennsylvania Rifle, even though it's nicknamed the "Kentucky Long rifle".

They may have made Hawkins in Missouri, but they carried them all to Wyoming.

Better to have the lawmakers engaged in deciding what the State gun should be than figguring out how to take money from people that work and give it to them that don't.

Ohio could be tne HI-Point, made outside of Dayton. Or, there's suppose to be a plant in Sandusky re-making the Ithaca shotgun. Or, could be the AR-15, as the national match's are held just outside Pt.Clinton, Ohio every year. gypsyman
