taper attachment for 1338 lathe

CW you will like to keep an eye on this one. i will be putting a taper attachment to my lathe as long as not one sneaks in on the ebay bid in the last few seconds. i have \an hour to go. i will be having to do a lot of retrofitting to make it work but i think i twill all work out and be able to turn some of these tapers alot safer.

It will go for more that what's bid now!
Good concept - easy enough to duplicate.

Yes. That's why I make the decision on what it's worth and make the max bid early and come back and look the next day.

Now, now, you had plenty of opportunity to put up a higher bid but didn't take it. Your fault, not his.

if you really want something in an internet auction the best way to get it is to put your bid when its just 2 seconds left
I always do it that way

Earlier bids have priority on ebay so just set your max bid early and you will only be outbid by someone who is willing to pay more than you.
Don't throw pennies at the item trying to stay on top, decide what you are willing to pay and bid that amount about 2 hours before the auction ends.
This simple concept wins auctions. It beats out the last second bidders and the bid snatcher programs by having the earlier bid and you never spend more than you intended.

Soot -
Spot on!
I've lost too many trying to nickle-dime the increase in bids.

The cross slide only has enough travel for short tapers. A taper attachment allows a taper to be as long as the guide bar, typically the length of the bed for a 1338 lathe.
