94 black shadow

A neighbor has a like new winchester 94 30-30 black shadow with 3x9x40 tasco scope for $400.  Could not find any comps for the black shadow on gun broker or guns america.  Kind of like the 24'' bbl but not so much the synthetic stock.  What say you as to value and what would wood stocks set me back?  thanks, gary

I think I have figured out the price of new wood furniture for the rifle and considering I can purchase a new 336 or nice used 94 with wood for the same dollars I will let this one pass.  I was just thinking about the extra fps my hand loads might get out of that 24" bbl.  When it comes down to it I like the short and handy units for my style of hunting.  Thank, gary

I found a 444 AE a few years ago and thought 500 was a deal. I like the all black and added a Leupold M8 4X.
You might find someone that would trade stocks.
