Wars of the Roses a Time Team Special
« on: March 23, 2011, 11:00:00 AM »
Hi Guys.

Not sure if you get this show. Hope so, In the latest special it is looking at a War of the Roses battle of Boswell. It has a great section on cannon from the battle and cannon balls left on the field. Shows firing of a stave cannon etc. If you get a chance to see it do.

Owen,

What channel? PBS? BBC? The History Channel? The Military Channel?
Mr president I do not cling to either my gun or my Bible.... my gun is holstered on my side so I may carry my Bible and quote from it!

Owen,

There was a series produced in Britain called "The History of Warfare": Does this look familiar?

RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

At one of the battle sites, they have recovered some fragments of hand cannons and are publishing the usual speculations that because they had exploded, they were a greater danger to the users than their opponents.

Too bad these academics don't get out in the field and do some real experiments with these things.

I have this episode in .avi format that can be viewed on a pc or some dvd players that support usb drives. It's around 500 megabytes in size. I can upload the file if someone want's to view it.

You may have to send it via Yousendit; I doubt GBO will go that large.

You may want to think twice about publicly distributing copyrighted material.
I saw it and it was pretty good.

The file is up, it's on Megaupload and 450 megs in size. It's worth watching. I enjoyed it very much.
Send me a PM for the download link.
