Now that we've had some nicer weather, I've been shooting my H001 quite a bit. The action is silky smooth and it's very accurate. Nice way to relax after work.

I bought one too, i bought it to shoot CCI CB's in it, and it feeds and fires them just fine. I'll put it on paper and see how it does soon.

I would like to hear more about the continuing adventures of you two and your Henry H001s.
open sight accuracy, durability of finish, what you do with the CBs...
Will probably get one in the next discretionary spending cycle.

Mine is totally stock with a flat top rear sight and cheap plastic front. The front sight is hooded too. I can hit a beer can with it out to 50 yards with open sights. It carries well and shoulders naturally. The wood is awesome... but the receiver cover is painted metal. This has not caused any issues, but must be removed to clean properly. Henry will not tell you that, but it's the only way to access the bolt, etc. The action is silky smooth. I use Winchester 333 or 555 bulk ammo in all my .22s. I have had great results with this ammo. Henry's customer service is second to none. I have not needed them, but feel confident they would resolve any issue that would arise. I like my Henry.

Bought me a H001 in mid march put a 3x9x40 bushnell on it, been wiping out the squeaks out to 150 yrds with it. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT. been thinking of getting an H001TV next for the squeaks out to 200/250yrds. Might put something like a 6x12x44 or 6x24x44 scope on it. Pop some popcorn and watch the exploding squirrel show. Anyone got one of the H001TV`s yet? how`s it group?

Everybody that shoots my big ring Henry, buys one. Before Henry, 22 levers were either Winchester or Browning. Expensive and rare, most people had the semi-22s and a few bolt actions. The problem with blow-backs is that they blow back. They get really dirty quickly and quit working. The Henry lever stays clean and shoots on and on and on.. Run a bore snake through it and keep shootin. Low price, accurate, smooth is a good combination.

I am fascinated by this Henry talk of H01s etc. Dunno what yall mean.

I have a recent pawn shop 034XXX. Does this mean I have a H03? There is no H prefix on mine. It has no barrel hood. I think it was removed by the previous owner. If he had not have removed it then I would.

Go to Henrys website, look at their models, and then you will understand what a H001 is.

BTW, i still really likeing my H001.

My 22 Henry cycles 22LR without a hitch but I mostly shoot 22 shorts in it but it occasionally jams using the shorts. I am amazed at how quiet shorts are in the Henry vs my other 22 pistols and rifles. 22Short doesnt sound like a bullet. You dont even need ear protection with the Henry. I have a cowboy 22 six shooter that is fairly loud when firing 22Short. Some guns are quieter than others no doubt.

I recently bought a Henry H001 and love it, too. I was surprised how easy it was to load the tubular magazine and also found the action smooth. Here is a write up with pictures:

I also think Henry made really good choices in where they economized a little in materials and the resulting product is affordable and fun. It's definitely a shooter!

I bought an H001T (oct barrel) couple of weeks ago. Little heavier than the H001 so it was easier for me to hold steady. Extra weight is not a problem because I don't intend to carry it around.

Put about 500 through it, then it started jamming every 3rd or 4th shot.
Pretty sure its just some minor defect in the carrier.
They are sending me a new carrier; swapping it out will be easier than mailing it back.

Different kind of fun than shooting a scoped bolt gun.
With a scope, if the groups aren't 1/2", its a bad day.
With an open sighted lever, if I can hit a tennis ball at 50 yards with 1 out of 50 shots, I am the king of the cowboys.
Kind of hard to aim it without at least thinking "OK Black Bart now you get yours"

I bought a new H001Y today, I like the shorter LOP stock as it shoulders more easily for me. The action and trigger are very smooth for a brand new gun, I'm impressed with it so far. I have not shot it yet but I'm sure it will shoot just fine. I have a H001M that has been excellent since day one and is very accurate. I'm calling Henry tomorrow to see if I can purchase the shorter stock set from the H001Y to put on this rifle also.

I have enjoyed my H001 for a number of years now. A friend called yesterday from a big box store in a neighboring state. He was drooling over a Henry Golden Boy, rifle in one hand, phone in the other. I told him about the accuracy and ease of cycling of my H001 and told him to go for it! It is nice to be able to recommend a product to a friend, knowing that if a problem pops up, the Henry company will take care of it, no matter what!

I got to shoot a 01Y the other day, off the bench using factory iron sights, the first 3 shots went into a nice symetrical 3/8". The rifle was very smooth & accurate. I liked it.

I like my Henry rifles very much. I have an H001 in 22 LR, an H001M in 22 Mag and a Long Ranger in 5.56/.223. They are all easy to shoot well with good fit and finish. If anyone is thinking about a levergun purchase, I would recommend looking at Henry products.

I have an H001 with large loop lever, it's a very accurate rifle. I can pick off chipmunks with the factory iron sights.
