Gotcha.  I think I know which associated one you are talking about.  Thanks for the reply.

Just to clarify, that's a "former" association. They haven't worked together for years now. David saw what was happening and ran away as fast as he could, it was just a little too late though...the damage was done. :(
Me personally, I give second chances, even when people don't deserve them. I have been disappointed twice, but sometimes it works out, as the individual learned their lesson the first time.

Thanks, Dinny

If I get one of the jobs I am interviewing for in the next few days, I may be contacting you via PM to get the info from you about how to go about getting me one of these.  Incredibly envious.  Range report is most definitely required.

To be LEGAL the muzzle break will have to be WELDED on.  No Locktite or silver solder.  This will add stress to the barrel, and no bench rester would ever do that.  Good luck with your groups,  they will likely be worse than with an unbreaked barrel.

If it was me I would add another 1 1/4 inches to the barrel.  That way its totally legal.  Even if you want to remove the brake later.

Gotta love the BATF!

1100 degree Silver solder is legal by the Feds...

GREAT GUN Dinny!!! Congratulations, It has a short fat brother residing in my gunlocker, a .45 ACP with the same color and finish scheme, blue chamber area and bead blasted SS barrel (and brake). Mine also has a brake (to make it legal) and it's a fine shooting gun with it. They both were brought into this world by the same outstanding gunsmith...All the best buddy and it's a keeper for sure!....<><....:)

Look at those legs!  ;D Oh, and gun too  ;)

My legs have been that same size since I was 12 y/o. My sister once called them tree trunks.

The wife had different plans for me tonight than shooting my Stubby...Chuck E. Cheese's.... :o ::) :P I'm traveling back to S. IN tomorrow for Thunder over Louisville. I'm taking it with to make some Thunder of my own on Saturday morning. ;D ;)

Dinny,

Very nice! Can't wait to see the range report.  I have a long barrel (18.5"  ;D) 45 ACP currently in production, maybe we can have a little shooting competition this fall in southern IN?  Say maybe the day before the Deer Gun Opener?

I'm here right now, Dad and I are taking it out in the morning to sight the scope in. :) I can't wait to see his face when I touch off the first round. ;D

I personally wouldn't bet, I don't have a 50cal ammo can to spare. ;)

Dad and I got out today to shoot Stubby. I was impressed with the lack of recoil and the muzzle blast was not bad at all. It did peel loose bark off the tree we were shooting from though. :o We shot at a distance of 60 paces and, although the scope needs some more tuning, it did shoot really well. The load used was the "go-to" load of 180gr SS-PB with AA1680.

Thanks, Dinny

He's not a big fan of the 500, I think a 445 SM would work just as well and even give you a big more range, if ever needed.
