Nikon ProStaff? Is it a good scope?
« on: March 28, 2011, 02:20:15 PM »
Hey Guys,
I was curious if any of you have a Nikon ProStaff? I am looking at a 3-9x40.  I know it is one of Nikons cheapest scopes.  Is it recomended? Pros and cons welcome.
Thanks

I have 1 mounted on a .358 Win (Rem short action rebarrel), 1 on a 700 Classic in .300 Savage, and 1 mounted a Savage Mod 110 in 30-06.  I like them, however mine are in the 2x7x32 shotgun version.  Shot a doe 2 years
ago with the Savage 110 almost at quiting time and the light conditions were very poor.  Had no problem putting
the cross hair where it needed to be @ 107yds.  Squeezed the trigger, saw a ball of orange, and the doe was DRT.  I also have one in the "spares" cabinet as a back up.  For the price, they are hard to beat.

I have one mounted on a marlin 7-08. I haven't had any problems and wouldn't mind another one.
