Turkey season is right around the corner. Youth season in less than 2 weeks. I can't wait to take the kids out. I haven't been able to scout yet but hope I can put them on one.

My daughter (11yr) and I saw a big tom struttin' for some hens the other day.  She has no interest in shooting one, but wants to sit with me in the blind this year.

Hope you'all can find some.  I am not a turkey hunter but not against it.  As long as Country Mart has them Buterball things all cleaned and plucked, ready for the oven... ;D  Anyway last year I had 9 toms that visited my bird feeders twice a day.  No hens and come breeding season they left.  Looking for love i guess.  This year no turkeys and no squirrels.  Coons still raid it at night though.  I haven't heard any toms gobbling yet.

Was out scouting one of my favorite areas yesterday; didn't see any, but heard plenty of gobbling

Here around home we just don't seem to have as many turkeys. Still hearing a few gobble and see one from time to time,but not like a few years ago. Guess the weather the last couple of years has taken its toll.

Flood waters awill keep us from hunting the consevation areas in Pemiscott or New Madrid counties. To the hills we will go I guess. I know a few areas in Ripley county to try.

Season opens Monday morning. My son and I will be heading to the Drury-Mincy Wildlife Area. Year before last he killed a 30lb Tom opening day. Hoping to get one to put in the smoker. Also, I want some more spurs to make necklaces out of. Best of luck everone. Hunt hard and hunt safe. :D
