 I believe and yes in the term "its unbelievable" fits this FOR SURE :o
me and my wife out west a few years ago, saw goat/rams walking rock walls
I don't want to say, I saw that much of a Angle but what I did see was
Gods work other than a little leg twitch they appeared calm as cucumbers
took my wife into shock and awe
Till this day she still talks about how amazing they and the babies are

I believe it. I've seen mountain goats in glacier national park in natural rock faces very similar to that dam. There were even little young ones. It was unbelievable when I first saw them. It seemed impossible and I just marveled at it.

I have to believe it since I've seen similar things in other parts of the world.  You have to wonder why they do it when there is obviously an easier way.  I've always considered it akin to the mentality of people who choose to live in a flood prone area who continue to come back after the waters reseed.  At least in the case of the goats they know they are safe from most predators while in such positions.

Used to see ibex in the dolomite mtns (Cortina D'ampezzo)while stationed in Italy. Pretty skittish when they see people and can literally run away from you on extremly steep cliffs.

Yep, if you've ever been around Goats, you would know this isn't even a challenge for em, years ago I had a half Toggenburger, and half Alpine, she was just a little thing, she could climb anything, her favorite was when I was out in the garden with her and I would set down at the picnic table, before you knew it she was standing on my hat, while it was on my head....steg

  I didn't notice it..but that sounds very plausible.  I notice woodchucks often hang around the shoulder of the roads, rooting around in the sand...that sand is what was spread during the winter, and was well laced with salt.

I've seen Goats and sheep in places you would think was impossiable to get to. 

Watched a fox get between a mother goat and baby last year down in the Wrangel Mtns.  At first thought fox had dinner.  Fox was going all places the goat was going.  Seemed to be gaining ground and getting close to having dinner.  Everytime the fox got too close the goat seemed to be able to take a step up or down, and the fox had to go around.  Finally the baby goat got tired and jumped up a rock face and laid down.  Fox kept going round in circles but could not reach the rock the baby goat was lying on.  Thought for a moment the Fox was going to jump from above down onto the goat, but I guess Fox could not bring itself to jump.  After a while baby goat got up and went straight up passing within a few feet of the Fox and kept going straight up the Mtn. to Mama.  Fox could not follow that course, but worked it's way around.  As Fox approached Mama turned and faced Fox.   Fox suddenly lost interest in Baby.  Looked like Baby Goat was playing with the Fox, but the Fox was deadly serious.

it is absolutely amazeing what them goats can do.they and desert rams are 2 species that have my absolute respect.how something with a brain that small can live where they do speaks a lot for animal instinct.god put it in them and it worked.
