I see south easterners and the mountain west as political brothers. I really admire the "real folks" from that part of the world. I love the accent that says we've got time to talk and the courtesy of southern conversation. I hate yankee talk like Bill O'Riley that is so rude.

There are towns in our part of the world that would probably pass similar ordinances, but they would not prove much here as probably at least half the population already has a gun as close as his vehicle. An armed society is a polite society.

I've got to check this out.  Not too far for an occasional field trip.  "Hey honey, I'm gonna' run over to the range and shoot.  Be back tomorrow sometime" ;D

This will be very convenient for us to frequent, we are member of an outdoor range up in Pickens but this will be extremely local.

The variety of range types and the "movers" has my interest.

Congrats to the owners and the town of Kennesaw, its a Win/Win IMO.

This is another win for the Nations shooting and gun owning public. The   attacks on other American gun owners is a needless ploy. We would all lose if it were not for gun owners North or South East and West were not pulling together. I have worked for over 40 years in gun rights issues. I have never seen or heard of any regional disputes winning for the gun owners.  Presidents Johnson TXS,President Carter GA,President Clinton Ark.  were southerners and the most radical antigun Presidents in history. So where you live is not a test of Conservative gun rights. We can trace or present gun laws to the post Civil War era. :(

what's a Kennesaw?

 ???  You ain't from around here is you boy...   ::)

As if being where I live isn't enough,  8)  Kennesaw is a city that requires every resident to own a firearm, and was formerly known as "Big Shanty."  The home of the locomotive "The General," where the "Great Locomotive Chase" started on April 12, 1862.

Not to mention it's the site of the "Battle of Kennesaw Mountain" on June 27, 1864; "... the most significant frontal assault launched by Union Maj. Gen. William T. Sherman against the Confederate Army of Tennessee under Gen. Joseph E. Johnston, ending in a tactical defeat for the Union forces."

"what's a Kennesaw" indeed...  ::)

 ;) :D

No, from a bit more south and west but ain't enough of us here for a forum. But I was in Ga. for awhile around 82. Loved the trout fishing but the traffic round Atlanta was bad as Dallas. Thanks for the history, and that's a law we need everywhere.

Well, I haven't been trout fishing in over 30 years; Warwoman creek I think it was, up in the mountains.   :-\  But if anything the trout fishing is better.  Especially in the Chattahoochee.

But the traffic is still TERRIBLE around Atlanta.   :(

I feel your pain Richard.  We are currently in Savannah on a little R&R, and the traffic is so bad we gave our wheels over to the valet attendant and started walking everywhere!  It was 4 blocks to Paula Deen's restaurant for lunch today!   In a short while I will suck it up and walk down to the riverfront.

Tomorrow however, I will have to retrieve the wheels to drive out to a gun shop that said he had a messa' Handi's.

Hope you hold out,

Ben
