If budsguns sells for 260 to 280 shipped, and add the ffl transfer to get 290.00  to 310.00.

Bud's Wizard Shipped to Lower 48 Price Clarification (sorry my opening post was not accurate): $258 or $262 for Wood Stock, $296 or $300 for Camo Stock. In Jeff City, MO dealers charge $20 or $30 to process an out of state sale.

Sorry to start such a scorcher, but it is a testament that GBO folks can engage in energetic discussions without flaming out.

I guess if you want it bad enough it is.

With the kind of crap barrels I been hearing that Remington is putting on their guns lately I would pay extra to get an older barrel.
A friend just bought two new Remington rifles in 204 heavy barrels for his son and himself to hunt varmints with.
Problem is they both had .22 cal bores.
He sent them back for a refund and is buying some other brand.
A few months ago my hunting buddy bought a new Rem 700 in 30-06.
Barrel stamped 30-06 but it is chambered in 270 Win.
He's still trying to get it corrected.

Very true.
I would hope these are the exceptions and not the rule but it does make you wonder about the future of H&R in their hands!
Same thing for what ever they decide to do with Thompson Center.

You're new here so we'll go slow. Read back through the last couple years of the classifieds and then we'll talk again. ;)
Oh and read the FAQ's too while you're at it.

The first time i bought a barrel from the acc. program i was a bit dissappointed when i went to check out. it seemed like a great deal in the months of checking out acc. barrels, saving cash, collecting a new mount, rings, scope, etc as many times as i read the acc. program pages it doesn't mention all the extra fees, i was a bit sad i bought the barrel anyway and i love it,so to me it was well worth the $120 but for $160 i'm not sure if i'd do it again.

as for used, all i can say is used items are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them

will the wizard kill the handi? well alot of things factor into that, many companies have shown that if the only changes you make is price someone will come along and offer a similar item for less, and price alone will decide who survives.it has been my experience that when price becomes the deciding point buyers will go cheaper they don't care about anything else (who made it,where it was made, etc).

to sum it up if nothing else changes they very well could price themselves out of a market i feel they helped create.

I think it is rediculious when you go to the classifieds and see 2 barrels for sale, then 2 SB-2 receivers, followed by two stock sets.  It's plain that person purchased two complete guns, disassembled them and is selling them off in parts.  I for one would not buy a gun parts that way.  Either I buy the whole gun, as it came from the factory  or I am not interested.   I'm not into jury-rigging barrels to fit receivers.  If done incorrectly it could be hazardous to someones health.  I have only bought one gun from the classifieds, and the owner assured me it was the complete gun as it came from the factory.  I wanted a 30-06 Ultra Comp, and used was the only way to get one.  Since H&R dropped production of guns with ejectors, it's doubtful I will ever buy another Handi.  That was the number one allure to me, to draw me from my TCR.  The TCR has extractors and it takes too long, and is too hard with cold fingers, to reload.  I don't feel like getting stomped by a Moose, or being mauled by a Grizzly.

Sourdough,

I for one would not hunt either Moose or Girzzly with a single shot unless it was all I had and could afford.

I have a Ruger No1 in 45/70 but don't plan on using it on dangerous game, that can bite, stomp  or horn.

I had a friend in Maine get run over by a black bear while he was reloading his single barrel shotgun, luckly the bear was a scared as he was and did not stop to get personal, he excapsed with minor bruses.

If I read this correctly Swampman I think you are getting personal.
I believe that you Sir just called me a liar and I don't take kindly to that.
You can feel free to think what you want but stating it straight to me is another story.
I stated a fact, now if you don't believe it then so be it.
I don't recall you being there so you would have no first hand knowledge on the two examples I gave.
You think companies don't make mistakes.
It happens quite often.
While it is true that based on the Rossi I owned I dislike or even hate them it doesn't make me a liar.

I will say this once and once only.
I don't knowingly lie.
I don't make up stories to impress people.
I do expect an apology!

Moderator- a definition from Wikipedia

The moderators (short singular form: "mod") are users (or employees) of the forum who are granted access to the posts and threads of all members for the purpose of moderating discussion (similar to arbitration) and also keeping the forum clean (neutralizing spam and spambots etc.).[12] Because they have access to all posts and threads in their area of responsibility, it is common for a friend of the site owner to be promoted to moderator for such a task. Moderators also answer users' concerns about the forum, general questions, as well as respond to specific complaints. They also can do anything to lend a helping hand to a user in need.[13] Moderators themselves may have ranks: some may be given mod privileges over only a particular topic or section (called 'local'), while others (called 'global' or 'super') may be allowed access anywhere. Common privileges of moderators include: deleting, merging, moving, and splitting of posts and threads, locking, renaming, stickying of threads, banning, suspending, unsuspending, unbanning, warning the members, or adding, editing, removing the polls of threads.[14] 'Junior Modding', 'Backseat Modding', or 'Forum copping' can refer negatively to the behavior of ordinary users who take a moderator-like tone in criticizing other members.

Essentially, it is the duty of the moderator to manage the day-to-day affairs of a forum or board as it applies to the stream of user contributions and interactions. The relative effectiveness of this user management directly impacts the quality of a forum in general, its appeal, and its usefulness as a community of interrelated users.

Spanky...whoever gave you the power to be a Moderator  needs to also have the power to take that job away from you, because you are anything but a Moderator...you're supposed to help people with their disputes rather than trying to create the disputes yourself....

Bill, Tim, or Spanky, please close this topic.

I am sorry for posting a topic that has run down hill like this.

In the two or so years I have been on GBO, this topic has deteriorated like no other.

I should have seen it coming and been more judicious in my choice of subjects.

I do not believe any GBO member willingly or knowing provides misinformation. Maybe I am naive.

I know we are right at the point when all good gentlemen stop, and step back, for the good of the forum and future lively discussions.

I am sorry Bill, Tim and Spanky, it won't happen again.
