I really like that open toe holster.  Is it custom?

You did real good William!
Tell me about the belt please. It looks like it would be perfect for a loop holster I have for my 1911.
I went to the website but I'm not sure what belt you have. It looks wider than what I'm finding. Is it special order width?

I really like your taste in both holsters. Nice tooling!

How about matching speed loader pouch?

It is a custom order---Rudy is good to work with.
Belt is 3 inches and is a true replica of the old gun belts. I had him leave off the bullet loops.
I will tell you that I was pleased as punch.

Yep!.....Tom Selleck ain't got nothin on you! The Texas version of Magnum PI, that's fer sure!

I was going to ask you about how well the model 22 worked in the holster. I guess the picture says it all!

Nothing beats the older designs like you have there, IMO......................

I'm wondering if you could incorporate a matching 1911 holster into the mix? For those days when you get the the 1911 itch.

I have an outfit that is for my SAA. It's a 3' belt and double loop holster. I also have an oldtime loop holster for my 1911 that is the same leather and border tooling. I use the belt with the 1911, but having the bullet loops on it is weird when packing the 1911. I have never carried them together. At least not yet.

I have been wearing the new rig with the compact slide for a couple of days now--model 28.
It is amazingly comfortable riding/sitting/standing, conceals well under a windbreaker or Hawiian shirt.
The rig rides on the hips and doesn't pull down or disturb the pants.
I have found the answer to revolver carry.

HAHA!!!  I love the work Will....excellent and top notch.  How I'd love to be able to wear something like that....but...alas...I drive a desk and work in shirtsleeves.  I'd love to wear the Hawaiian shirts as well, but I'd get fired for sure!

Wm,

Just to help out if I can, I have a real true to life Texas by God shirt complete with pearl buttons I will send you if you can wear a size L.  I don't want them Texans to try and take advantage of you because of that flowery shirt.....on second thought, the piece  buckled around it should prevent that...... ;D

Nice rig Wm, hey what is the best way to dress and care for tooled leather like that?  I'm mounting a scope for a friend. He brought the gun over in a nice old tooled leather gun case. The leather is really dry and some stitching is coming undone.  In addition, his leather sling was dry as a bone and ready to break. I've rubbed Hubberd's Shoe grease into the sling but I don't know how to care for tooled leather.

Any suggestions?  I hate to see neglected leather.

There really is no cure---the best situation is prevention.
Like shoes--I keep mine dressed with a neutral polish. I don't think that you need to waterproof them, use mink oil or some of the other stuff.
You really don't want the belt or holster to get soft.
i just tert mine like dress shoes.
If it gets wet let it dry and put on some wax.

Obenauf's Leather Oil or Heavy Duty LP, White's Boot Oil or Neatsfoot oil will replenish dry leather and keep it from getting worse. It will darken the leather to some degree. But I don't know anything that won't. Most leather looks better for it anyway.
I quit using Neatsfoot some years ago for Obenauf's oil. It is all natural and I use it on everything leather. Saddles, boots, chaps, holsters, knife scabbards, my new speedloader and 10/22 mag pouches........everything. White's Boots used to give the buyer a little container of Obenauf's HD with every pair of boots. Now they have their own brand on it. I'm sure it is the same stuff. Obenauf's Heavy Duty has more beeswax to make it a better waterproofer for boots or whatever needs the extra protection. Neatsfoot is fine. It always has been. But I prefer Obenauf's or White's. Can be found online or some sporting goods stores. Or White's Boot store. Neatsfoot will be at tack shops or other leather goods stores.
Whatever you do, stay away from petroleum or synthetic blend oils.

Saddle,  thanks for the info n Obenauf's.  Never heard of the stuff.  I've read a lot on their web site and I think I'll get some and give it a try.  I have an old can of neatsfoot but the stuff works out of my belt too fast and the leather doesn't stay oiled.  I have used mink oil on some things but it too works out with use.  I have an old can of Hubberds and I've really liked it on some old boots I had but it doesn't shed water as much as I'd like.

Wm, yeah, especially for those holsters you wouldn't want them to soften and lose shape or ability to retain the guns.

Here in Alaska, I have to assume all my outdoor gear will get absolutely totally soaked at least a couple times in a season, sometimes a lot more.  It isn't the best place for leather really, and much of my gear is nylon, rubber or some synthetic.  But I have a few leather items that I really like and would like to keep in top condition.

thanks for the advice.

Those guns sure look nice in that rig!
cheers

Like the belt and holsters. The shirt? Not so much. All together as an ensemble. It certainly would take away suspicion that you might be armed. In some areas of Houston dressed like that, you would NEED to be armed. ;D

It has been fun and the rig does exactly what I wanted for the N frames.
The shirt--- ;D ;D ;D---well I got lazy and just straped it on what I had on.
I have worn the rig under a couple of shirts like that and it works great.

I like pancake holsters, is that one along the lines with a belt. I have a Dillon gun belt and holster rig for a 45, but don't carry electric guns anymore. I may order one for my 686 to go with the belt. Excellent rig.
