Loss of my new 357 Talo Trapper
« on: April 02, 2011, 11:34:42 AM »
My youngest daughter and I were out shooting and she shot the 357 trapper a few times, I asked for my turn and she wouldn't give it back. This is the same daughter that shoots the 45-70 handi. I guess my shooting partner has a new 357 trapper and I'll just stick with the 45-70. Now I got to get a youth stock and a scope for her. I have lost a rifle but the ear to ear grin was well worth it.  8)

Good job! I don't mind sharing something they will use and love for years like that. It's kind of funny how we get wrapped around those little fingers. Wives or kids... ain't it cool how shooting together makes the "loss" of a gun much less painful?
Keep up the good family and friend time gang... keep safe, and enjoy every minute.

I lost a 45 LC to a grandson, same deal.  Best loss I ever had.  You lose a rifle, gain a shooting buddy for life.  Pretty good trade-off in my opinion.

I lost a .35 Whelen like that to the wife.  It's worth it, she is my best hunting partner.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Been there too, got the shirt, got the hat.  There's nothing finer than getting a kid or a woman into shooting.  Fortunately, Patty was an expert handgunner when I met her....almost 25 years ago.  Now, I'm loading .270s for her to take to the shoot in Garyling, MI this summer to benefit Muscular Distrophy.  She's a heck of a woman and I'm very proud of her.  She's dead nuts on at 400 yards with her .270.  Oh, yeah, she's a Ponca Indian, shoots a long bow, throws a 'hawk or a knife as well.  A few years back there was a totally false rumor circulating around here that Patty, shooting off the hip, took out a running buck with her long Bow at 100 yards.  The fact is she took a standing buck at 35 yards with a full draw from the shoulder.

It's a loss I can live with.  :D  My shooting partner is definitely a reloading partner. She can load her ammo, and I just might let her load some 45-70s up for me. 8)

Wish I could lose a few rifles to my wife or daughter. They're just not interested.  My son, however, is certainly making up for them.  As soon as he gets over the fear of recoil, I'm sure to lose more to him.

Like everyone else indicated, it's a loss I can live with.
