No, it cuts a recess that's about .400" wide, I wouldn't use in on anything over .30 cal.

It's out to a member right now, it's made for a .22 cal, I added a .30 cal pilot from PTG, cuts a slight recess on a .30 cal barrel, here's a pic of a 223 barrel I crowned with it, the recess is ~.400" wide, and a pic of the tool with a .379" pilot I made to do a couple 38-55s, it's more of a facer and crown cutter on 30 cal and bigger.

i know this has been posted before can a standard bolt action marlin 22 be reamed to 22 mag or is mag to long and what about a single shot. break open answers would be apreciated.

Far as I know, unless it's one of the cheapie lined .22 barrels, you should be able to ream any of the steel or s/s barrels to .22 magnum. The one thing you have to be careful of is if it's a .22 semi-auto, you HAVE to increase the spring strength to offset the stronger rounds. It's not really recommended in a semi anyway, but bolts should always be strong enough to have no issue. It's just a lot easier to ream break opens, because you don't need an extension to get through the bolt area.
