t/c rifles lately
« on: April 07, 2011, 10:28:26 AM »
Has any other people noticed that the quality of the new t/c barrels are less than the older ones.  I have helped three other t/c encore shooters and the pivit pin would not go through the barrel lug but went throught the frame fine.  After tying for a half hour the barrels had to be sent back to t/c and had the hole reamed.  These were all new barrels, I thought this was very odd, and was wondering if any one else has seen this problems.   I own several t/c contenders, encores, and two tcr.  All of my extra barrels interchange with no problems.  Like to hear from the rest of you all.   Thanks

I have never had a problem like that with any of my factory barrels. I do
a non T/C Encore barrel that had a burr in the frame hole. I removed the
burr and the problem was solved.

I have a couple of barrels from a custom builder that are extremely tight.  I have to lubricate the hinge pin and tap it in with a mallet.  I also use "oversized" pins in all my factory barrels that must be driven in by gently tapping with a mallet.

The fact that your pin is snug may not be a bad thing, a snug hinge pin usually leads to bettter accuracy.  You might want to add a little gun oil and try to peck it in with a wooden, brass, or plastic mallet.

I think they are trying to bring some semblence accurracy to the Encore.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
