...in my American Security safe with the addition of 3 used Handi-rifles. I am not in an "arms race" with the likes of cwlongshot, quickdtoo, or stimpylu32. These are amazing firearms, very-very fun to shoot, and quite frankly they are addictive and habit-forming. I am bitten and the bug has got me and got me "good". I am not looking for a cure...

I was about to put my 2cents in regarding a new safe, but

. Let's say those who are without sin, should throw the first .............

Isn't empty space a terrible thing to waste? Especially space in a gun safe, even worse when it's your safe!

I'm not sure I know what you are talking about. Every room needs a gun safe for decoration, and they have to have plenty of weight in them to keep from floating in the air. Yer just not done decorating the house yet.

I bought a couple safes and they are too small. The 8 gun cabinet I made in high school woodshop class has been full for years. I had a few Handis and a couple other guns standing against everything and I was afraid I would knock one over. There is a side by side built in bookcase in one corner of the room. I got rid of a lot of old magazines and other junk and made it more useful this weekend. Told my wife I could only get too more Handis and she said there is always the other bookcase

Just a note: If you take your time and stack them right, you can get more guns in. Turn one up, next down kinda like sardines. Steal the wife's towels so they don't bang into each other. A 14 gun safe will hold 20 if you hold your mouth right......

I have three of those, along with 2 29s that has 41 and 39 in them and a custom side by side 72 gun walk in that has over 90 rifles and 38 handguns with 27 TC contender barrels.
Always looking for more room.

You guys need to seek help. Browning used to sell a safe door and if I ever can sell this house and build another I will have a walk in. I don't really like safes. My neighbor had a nice big one FULL of guns and every time he wanted to dig one out I waited for him to bang them together. He had some really nice guns.

I bought the two I have mostly for my two sons in the future. They are smaller and a bigger one would have been hard to get in the basement. My new cabinet was just working with what I had. A couple pieces of wood and some stain and they are off the floor

Hope to get through this year without having to buy more wood

Way back I bought a couple of those steel cabinet gun "safes". You know the ones that relied more on no one seeing them as the minuscule "security" the offered. I graduated to a small fire safe. Twenty gun IIRC. Then that got filled. And for some time only certain or more valuable guns where kept inside. That only worked until the "valuable" things outnumbered others.

. Then I bought my house and did just about as quoted above. The safe door is cheaper than a while safe and YOU decide how big!!

Now I have a couple of those tin "safes" inside the safe room alongside the real fire safe. Then there is a couple racks for the remaining firearms.
It's also alarmed for unauthorized entrance, as well as for fire.
Along with my loading room it's the best things I did with the house.

I keep mine laying on the steel racks like they have in restaurants, the trigger guard fits perfectly in the side and i run a cable thru the trigger guards so the little guys cant wander with them. They can stil pick them up, but not remove them. I have some in safes but those poor guns hardly get fondled at all then. I also built a false wall that hides the room. Next house Ill make a nice safe room/panic room.

No Menards in FL so far as I know. Northern Tools; Sports Authority; several competing Gun shops; Bass Pro Shop in Orlando, some 50 miles due west.

if i see them for that price again i will get all i can
the current sale price is $379 and thats a good price too
just i know sometimes they go lower....and i just don't get over there soon enough
they are usually sold out when on sale and limit rain checks
