Got a 30/30 ejector barrel out of the classifieds here.  Locked up tighter than a drum on my SB1 receiver I had the maxi on.  Got the maxi fixed and the new 30/30 looks to be a shooter, just can't get any better than that!  I got to get used to that ejector though (been chasing brass). :)

With your experience it will be an easy conversion, per the FAQs, to do the extract only modification. In fact, compared to the other trials and tribulations youve been through (with these) you will think it too easy  ;).
But, how you gonna decide which one is your favorite?

That's a good question.  Just seems like these things are sprouting up like weeds.  May go pick up a practically new 45/70 friday.  I already have one..............but, but one is just not enough. ;)  I think the maxi is my all time favorite.........or is the 454............or the Thumbhole 45/70...........but the 7mm-08 shoots like a dream.  It's got to be the 30/30 she's the new gal in my life :o

Nah! Your wrong the easiest way to stop chasing brass is to sell me the ejector barrel!  ::)  ;)
Good luck with the barrel, it looks like it's grouping really good!

Simple solution, place your left hand over the breech as it opens and catch the brass.

I took a new shooter out Saturday and in three tries he had it down.  Whan he pressed the open button he placed his hand behind the scope and caught the brass as it came flying out.  You will never see extractors on my guns.

I'm with sourdough on this.I have both,but prefer the ejector over the extractor.I find myself trying to catch the extractors every time.Slow

I have an extractor barrel in .30-30 I'll trade you.  This is the first extractor I've had and I'm too used to that left hand going behind the breech to catch the brass...
