difference between the Weaver lines?
« on: April 11, 2011, 11:21:00 AM »
I am shopping around for a mid-power variable, very likely with an AO (see separate post regarding this feature) and am wondering about the differences between the Classic V series (4-16x AO) and the Grand Slam series (4.5-14x).

The Grand Slam line is Weaver's top shelf model, while the V series is the upper mid range scopes with variable powers in their "Classic" line. I have the V16(4-16-42AO) that you speak of mounted on a Weatherby 243 and the glass is superb. The glass comes from Japan's LOW lab that makes lots of glass for well-named scopes.
