Military frequencies in michigan
« on: April 11, 2011, 02:50:42 PM »
Anyone know if the military frequencies in michigan were changed to digital like the switch to digital TV a few years back? If so is there a website that lists the new digital frequencies?

M.A.R.S military affiliated radio services, does not publish radio frequencies, for civilian HAM use.
an affiliated member cannot divulge freqs, whether they are VHF  ( 2 meter and 440 ) or low band ( HF ) , civilian  HAM net

government military bands are restricted and encrypted and need special tuning and require MARS mods that are restricted
unless you are licensed ( affiliated ) .. you cannot get this info, digital or analog whether or not its modem or antenna reception.

about the NTSD, national traffic system(digital )..my father is 1 of only 2 TX/RX station operators in Michigan and has limited abilities within MARS, encryption/decryption or FL-digi and NTS .. my dad uses PacTor1 for Michigan and region 8 , for digital government
and military rebroadcasts and message transfers for all bands.

so unless you know someone inside, or affiliated with MARS and had a radio modified by them, your not going to get US Gov/MARS .. under normal circumstances there are a few exceptions

In the 70's the field radios were FM sets and once in a while you could pick up a radio station. Lower bands if i remember correctly. Frequencies for different army  units are/were kept in a book called an S.O.I. that radio operators (RTO's) carried. They are changed continuously.
