pt 1911 9mm
« on: April 12, 2011, 01:00:08 AM »
well i ordered a stainless one to day looks like 2 to 3 weeks before i get i looked at one in 45 acp nice guns just hope it shoots good they have great reviews.every place here didn't stock the 9mm.been shooting the ruger sr9 shoots good but there are a lot of plastic internal parts.there is to much plastic on guns and prices are high. changing out some of my guns and selling some don't shot like i used to. life is changing for me ok i don't mind it so much. have a great week.

I tried  a short guide rod on my pt1911 9mm and its groups grew larger. From a rest at 25 yards with the full length guide rod installed it shot a ragged 1.5" group at 25 yards.

They are worth getting.

Being an old revolver guy, I have to concentrate on my grip with the skinny 1911 handle to shoot them decently.

i am real happy with my pt 1911 in 9mm shoots  1.5'' groups when i'm not shaking .nice shooting the only plastic is the grip and end cap on mag and mag plunger.i started out with a couple of 1/2 in groups but that changed fast.i quit after about 90 rounds by then i am really shakey.diabetes sucks but oh well was another afternoon well spent on a different range.and today i shot for free because i was new to the range can't beat that.you have a great day.

I like the looks of the flat mainspring housing but the arched fits my hand much better.

This week I  replaced my msh with a colt silver polymer(ugh) arched housing.  The polymer was only 8 bucks so I wasn't out much if something went wrong. A stainless can be swapped in later.
It went in with only minor fitting and it points much more naturally for me now.

the pt 1911 just thought i would let you know that the sights are not set up for a 6 oclock hold on the bulls eye if you hold 6  oclock the gun will shoot quite low must aim at center of bulls eye and the sight  is non adjustable but windage is fine might  have to change rear sight taurus has a odd ball dove tail this set up is screwy takes some getting use to. the mag is easy to load not hard on the fingers.nice solid gun.
