2011 Wisconsin Spring Turkey Season
« on: April 13, 2011, 09:20:33 AM »
........anyone else havin' any luck?

21lbs, 10 1/2'' beard and 1 3/8'' spurs. If you look close you can see one of his hooks. Taken on public land. Actually was the second bird to come in this morning as the first one was run off by someone else moving in after he was on the ground. Almost came home and went to work, cause there were so many folks out. Had a little spot I figured no-one else knew about so I gave it a try. Had to piss off this guys harem in order to get him to come. The hens were the first to reply, and they were so noisy and raunchy, I figured they were Jakes. Thought I heard a gobble mixed in, but there were so many Sandhills and geese squawkin', I couldn't tell.

Till I seen his white head comin' thru the woods............ ;D

I just sat on private land in Crawford County for 4 days.  Saw a flock in the distance 1 morning, that is it.  Very, very few gobbles, unlike other years.  Others in the area reported the same scenario.  Where were you hunting?
