375 Black Mesa Express
« on: April 13, 2011, 04:47:44 PM »
I just joined the big boy's club.  I bought the rifle with dies, brass, and bullets.  Does any one have some real world load data that they can share?

Just looking around it appears this cartridge is about the same as a 375 Ultramag, is it not? If that is the case you could use Ultramag loading data and go from there. Looks like a powerful no fooling round that is going to be picky about what bullets you use so as to not blow them up on game.

Case capacity is a bit less on the BME.  Shoulder is set back, longer neck.  I have some brass with the Black Mesa headstamp, but I have read that you can make brass out of the ultra mag.  Starting loads, backed off a bit, may be what I have to start with.  It is supposed to send a 300 grain bullet at 2900 FPS in factory form, the chrony may be called into action to see that I don't go past that.
