Iowa State Capitol Artillery Monuments
« on: April 14, 2011, 08:42:54 PM »
I like the way this feature on this site is set up; it's from the Iowa Legislature, and you can choose to view the monuments as a pdf or video (both formats give brief descriptions of what's being shown). There are four artillery pieces listed in the menu on the right of the page, two from the Civil War, and two from the Spanish-American War.

RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

Thanks, John, for posting those.  (The SN of the 13" is #1.)  I've posted some pix of those before but was unaware of the data that Iowa provided.
