Gunshow Topper
« on: April 15, 2011, 05:44:30 PM »
Went to a gunshow recently, spied a Topper in 20 gauge for $105.  Not a bad buy, but it was early in the show and I wanted to look around.  The seller saw that I was about to depart his table and said those magic words, "It really isn't a bad price for a two  barrel set".  He then produced the 30-30 barrel and I was a happy boy indeed!

My goodness, my .30-30/20 ga. Topper combo cost me $125 new, 25+ years ago.  You did good!

In those situations, I generally put blisters on the back of my hands pulling cash out of my pockets!!!  Heckuva deal!
I told my pap and mam I was going to be a mountain man; acted like they was gut-shot. "Make your life go here, son. Here's where the people is. Them mountains is for Indians and wild men." "Mother Gue", I says "the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world," and by God, I was right. Keep your nose in the wind and your eye along the skyline
